Saw there is a measles case in Greensboro area — kid had just visited science museum there. Kid was from out of the country — hopefully most everyone s/he came into contact with is vaccinated…

… In response to a question from representative Troy Balderson (R-Ohio) about wearables, Kennedy revealed that HHS will soon conduct one of the agency’s largest ever advertising campaigns to promote their use. He added that in his ideal future, every American will be donning a wearable within the next four years.…”

The international vaccine agency, Gavi, has strongly rejected HHS Secretary Kennedy's accusations that it was not following scientific data on vaccines, after he said the U.S. would halt all contributions unless the body made changes to its practices.

Kennedy remarks were made at a Gavi pledging summit in Brussels on Wednesday, where countries and philanthropies promise to deliver funds. A video of Kennedy's remarks, first reported by Politico and later posted by The New York Times, show him praising Gavi for its mission of making medicine affordable to everyone but then pivoting to criticisms. He says the group "ignores the science" when it comes to vaccine safety and calls on Gavi to "re-earn the public trust" before the U.S. would reconsider its decision to end U.S. contributions.

The international agency, established in 2000, says it has played a role in vaccinating 1.1 billion children against a long list of potentially debilitating diseases from polio to malaria to mpox to measles, and claims credit for saving 20 million lives. Global health experts say Gavi is instrumental in getting vaccinations to lower-resource countries, providing cash to buy vaccines and support for disease outbreak response.

The U.S. has been one of the largest donors to Gavi, funding about 13% of the agency's budget. Under the Biden Administration, the U.S. pledged $2.53 billion starting in September 2022 through the year 2030.

… Kennedy's position would not be the first time that President Trump's team has sought to reduce U.S. support for the agency. The administration cut more than a billion dollars in funding to Gavi as part of its foreign assistance shakeup earlier this year.…”

Gates Foundation to commit $1.6 billion for Gavi vaccine alliance​



“… The Trump administration has previously indicated that it planned to cut its funding for Gavi, representing around $300 million annually.
Losing U.S. funding could lead to around 1.2 million additional deaths over the next five years, Gavi CEO Sania Nishtar had said.…”

[The Gates Foundation created GAVI in 2000 and with this new commitment will have donated over $9 Billion to the project since seeding it with $750 million then. You know, because Gates wants to secretly infect everyone with microchips hidden in vaccines.]

Gavi procures an immunization against diphtheria — a highly contagious bacterial infection that kills between five and 10 percent of people who are infected, mostly children under age 5 — which is combined with one against neonatal tetanus, a major killer of newborns, and pertussis, also known as whooping cough, which is fatal in one in 200 cases among infants.

Mr. Kennedy cited one study, published in 2017, that he said found that children who received the vaccine used by Gavi were 10 times more likely to die from all causes in the first six months of life than children who were unvaccinated. But multiple groups of other experts reviewed those findings and concluded they were not accurate.

In a statement, Gavi’s directors said that Mr. Kennedy was correct that the vaccine he criticized is not used in high-income countries, but they said that was because children in nations with weak health systems need a vaccine that provides the broadest possible protection.

“The disease burden for diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis in lower-income countries is much higher than in high-income countries, and health systems are far less equipped to offer frequent booster doses,” the statement said. …”

Lyn Redwood served for years as president of Children's Health Defense, the anti-vaccine organization founded by Kennedy. Her exact role at HHS is unclear.

… Redwood is expected to deliver a presentation at the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meeting on Thursday using a report on thimerosal that is currently available online, which contains misleading information and cites a source that apparently does not exist, according to one author, who told ABC News he is falsely cited in the report.…”
 



Unfortunately for most of those current and future children, they haven’t bootstrapped their way into light enough skin.

… CDC studies found “no increased risk” that the Moderna and Pfizer mRNA vaccines caused adverse effects during pregnancy, Sarah Meyer, director of the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office, said at the meeting, citing data from 28 analyses of 68,000 pregnant women. The data showed no increases in miscarriages, stillbirths, preterm births, major birth defects, neonatal ICU admissions, infant deaths, abnormal uterine bleeding or other pregnancy-related conditions.

In fact, the CDC found that “maternal vaccination is the best protection against COVID-19 for pregnant women and infants less than six months of age,” CDC immunologist Adam MacNeil told the panel. The COVID vaccines aren’t approved for infants younger than six months, so maternal immunization is their only protection.

… The anti-vaccine camp maintains that the vaccines weren’t adequately studied before rolling them out to the general public and haven’t been sufficiently monitored for adverse effects since then.

The CDC officials’ presentation debunked almost all these claims. Indeed, Meyer said, the COVID-19 vaccines have been subjected to “the most extensive safety monitoring program in U.S. history.”

… And on Wednesday, just as the CDC team was telling ACIP that the myocarditis effect had ebbed to insignificance, the FDA announced that it was expanding the warning label on the mRNA vaccines to increase the caution about myocarditis — a change with the potential to undermine acceptance of the vaccines.…”

It’s actually worse, they’re just outright fabricating “studies”.

ETA: this is what I wrote in February, and it’s ever more prominent in my decision making.

I think you have to hope your pcp is 1. following WHO recommendations and international medical research and 2. Recognizes rfkjr as a charlatan. We’re already lagging on flu vaccine development for the fall, and with rfkjr already manipulating flu vaccine recs, we should not rely on the US government to have anything close to our best interest in mind. On an individual front, seek info from the WHO, NHS, JAMA, and independent healthcare reporters, here and abroad. Truth is, most doctors are going to seek out a lot of the info for you, but I wouldn’t implicitly trust.

Once the anti fact, anti science, anti evidence goons fully take over, is there a shadow ACIP group that we can still follow to keep those of us willing on the science backed vaccination schedule?
