RIP, Ryne Sandberg

RIP. I watched a lot of WGN as a kid during his era.
Yep, I was never particularly a Cubs fan, but I watched a lot of Cubs games since they were on every day.

I always appreciated Sandberg as a great player and he was amazing to watch. I hate that he's gone so young.

RIP, Ryno.

One of the best second basemen ever in my lifetime, a true superstar in the field and at the plate. This is sad news to hear of . . RIP Mr. Sandberg

He became my favorite player in the late 80's and early 90's. His extended slump in 1994, followed by his sudden retirement, broke my heart. I thought for sure he'd be one of those few guys to end up with 3,000+ hits and 400+ homers.

I have a Ryne Sandberg glove.

He was a good one. Remember him and Dunston with his cannon at short.

Others I remember were Dawson and Sutcliffe.

Watched those guys as well as Bob Horner and Dale Murphy with the Braves.
Watched more of the Cubs because the Braves announcers could put anyone asleep. Skip Carey had none of the charisma of his dad.

Man, Sandburg seems way too young.
