You're right in general. I can tell you from experience that it was bad news when Marty Lipton was "not happy" with you. My office mate (yes, there was a bit of an office crunch when I was there and the first years had to pair up, even there!) displeased him and his life at the firm was never the same.

But anyway, back to the story. . .

Earlier today, asked if he would consider new sanctions on Russia after being unhappy with the Kyiv bombing, Trump demurs and claims they “both” want peace

I think Trump understands that Ukraine and Russia are ready to end Ukraine's brutal war against Russia. Being the great negotiator, I think Trump can convince Ukraine that it will be getting a really good deal if Russia doesn't take over their entire country .

The only question is whether Trump can convince Russia to take over less than 100% of Ukraine. Given the good relationship Trump has with Putin, I think he can get his good buddy to settle for 50%
