and true to form Welker does not follow up with the question :

Welker : Mr. Secretary, you say any agreement needs to be enforceable. Who and how will an agreement be enforced ?
If Putin doesn't honor an agreement as you say he always does, will we be the ones to enforce it ? And if so how will we do that ?

Chuck Todd was a republican lapdog host of MTP
Welker is a vacuous host of MTP

No wonder GQPers are eager to appear on MTP and express their bs talking points.

Now imagine if Rachel Maddow was the host of MTP asking the questions, and yes I know GQPers would be too afraid to appear on MTP...but still
Journalism is dead and the MSM killed it.

Trump and Putin Find Common Ground on One Issue: Biden

The Alaska summit between the U.S. and Russian leaders showcased their mutual animosity for the former president.

Joe Biden Nbc GIF by Saturday Night Live

“… During their private meeting and their public appearance in Anchorage on Friday, both leaders blamed Mr. Biden for the war in Ukraine, never mind that Mr. Putin was the one who ordered troops to invade his neighbor and keeps authorizing strikes against civilian targets.

The Russian president complained that Mr. Biden did not accede to Russian demands before the full-scale invasion three and a half years ago, and he played to the current president’s ego by agreeing that the war would not have happened had Mr. Trump still been in office in 2022.

By Mr. Trump’s account, Mr. Putin behind closed doors also endorsed the lie that Mr. Trump actually won the 2020 election, only to have it stolen by Democrats.

… Mr. Putin, who has dealt with five American presidents during his quarter-century in power, has come to believe that they are all more or less alike in disregarding Russian concerns, according to people who have heard his rants — all, that is, except Mr. Trump….”
It's pretty impressive, although not in a good way, that someone who is as good of a conman as DJT is is also a rube of the magnitude that DJT is.

What time is the meeting today? Will it be televised like the last meeting in Washington with Zelensky?

“U.S. strength in international relations has always been its relationships, and with the U.S. withdrawing from its traditional democratic alliances, others are strengthening their relationships without the U.S. Today, at a meeting with Zelensky in Brussels, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen stressed that international borders cannot be changed by force. She called for Ukraine to become “a steel porcupine, indigestible for potential invaders.” French president Emmanuel Macron said that Ukraine’s borders must be honored and that “if we show weakness today in front of Russia, we are laying the ground for future conflict.”

These allies are standing together against Putin and, if necessary, against Trump. Von der Leyen will accompany Zelensky to a meeting at the White House on Monday. So will French president Emmanuel Macron, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni, German chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO secretary general Mark Rutte, United Kingdom prime minister Keir Starmer, and Finnish president Alexander Stubb.

National security scholar Tom Nichols noted on social media that it “suggests something went very wrong in Alaska if this many European leaders are coming to Washington on short notice.” - Dr. HCR

“… Mr. Zelensky was expected to arrive at the White House at 1 p.m. Eastern for a bilateral meeting with Mr. Trump. They are then expected to hold a working lunch and a meeting with the European leaders. One senior European diplomat described a sense of panic among Ukraine’s European allies and said that a meeting like the one set for Monday hadn’t come together so quickly since the run-up to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2023 [sic — I think they mean 2003] . …”
