On a somewhat lighter note, this song terrified me as a kid
I'm a similar vein, here's a Shel Silverstein penned classic with Shel himself providing Marie's wild shrieks.

The content of the lyrics is extremely unsettling. Combine that with the fact that it was written in 1968, and it’s a sort of artifact of how long we’ve been dealing with crises of mental health in this country. Sort of a companion song to Excitable Boy, which was posted above as well. What aspect, exactly, is scary about that song?
I think part of the intrigue of this tread is understanding what makes the song "scary".
Black Sabbath- Black Sabbath was always kind of scary to me.
I’m not a Sabbath fan, but I’ve always liked that song.I like pretty much everything but Sabbath.
Same vein...
You know i have to proofread and not trust the swipe. I butchered that respond. I'll edit.I’m not a Sabbath fan, but I’ve always liked that song.

My best friend in high school would often spend the night on weekends in the late 80s. We' d always throw on the first Sabbath album when the goodies kicked in.I like pretty much love everything by Sabbath.
