Secret Service kills man trying to enter Mar-a-Lago

I've never touched a real gun. Seriously.
You really have to grow up around it or actively pursue it, and it’s not cheap. I grew up shooting BB guns and hunting squirrels with them. At 10 I started saving for a shotgun and bought A Remington 11/87 when I was 12. Hunted all the damn time until I was 15. Got a 30-06 that year for Christmas , but we moved and the access to hunting disappeared. To be honest though the last time I killed a deer I didn’t really enjoy it, it was still alive for a minute or 2 when I got to it. Killed the desire and with the move no more hunting for me.

These kinds of threats against the president (Trump was not even at MAL last night) are depressingly common — they didn’t used to be as widely reported, but POTUS is a big draw as a target for seriously mentally ill people.

Why is this in any way related to being grown up? I have literally never smoked a cigarette in my life. Should I grow up and try one?
No what I’m saying is it’s real easy to get into if you are raised into gun culture, hunting. Pretty damn difficult to start these hobbies as a child without someone helping you out. It’s expensive, most of the time need to travel to the location of the hunt, and you can’t even buy firearms etc.

Yeah. I grew up on a subsistence farm from the time my mom was widowed when I was one until she remarried when I was eight. Probably 3-4 times a week we ate game we killed or fish we caught. Guns were another tool you learned to use and respect. We mostly ate small game like dove, quail, squirrels and rabbit. Rabbit and quail were really good. Squirrel wasn't bad but chewy fried. It was better cooked a long time and made into squirrel and dumplings. Dove I could take or leave, which, on the farm, meant you took it. Blackbird was surprisingly good. Possum wasn't bad after my grandfather caged it and corn fed it a week before barbecuing it.

I hunted until I left for college. Some friends tried to get me to go deer hunting later in life but I'm not a big venison fan. I couldn't see killing a deer for something I didn't care about.

Got it. I miss understood the tone.

I think it is clear the time has come to move past the fallacy pushed by Democrats that the number one threat facing America is white supremacy and focus on the real threat that being the radicalize Democratic party itself. And to see someone above said the right and the president should turn down the rhetoric is laughable. The rhetoric coming from the right pales in comparison from the rhetoric coming from the left.

Couple that rhetoric with a plethora of weak-minded people so willing to suspend rational thought in order to support a party whose policies have become so destructive to this country, in many cases to these levels of extremes, and the threat the left, their supporters, and their policies poses is clear....from open borders, to the war on the police, to their willingness to, at best, ignore massive fraud if not outright participate in it, to their denial of factual biology, to their protection of criminals, and on and on and on.

The Democratic party is lost in the wilderness. And without the protection of the liberal media and the availability of a brainwashed support base, rational thought would correct this situation. Keep thinking that supporting a party who wants to flood the country with illegals because they believe it will help win elections, who oppose any form of security needed to fight voter fraud, who wants to get as many on government assistance as possible because they believe it will lead to captive voting blocs even though we are 38 trillion in debt, who are willing to provide sanctuary to criminals, who makes everything about race while damaging race relations in such a racially diverse country, keep thinking that is going to somehow workout for you in the long run and somehow you will be insulated from the repercussions. I think you are going to in for a rude awakening.

For the sake of the country, and that includes the right, the middle, the left, and even the far left, Republicans need to wake up, forget about all this decorum, and realize what they are now facing in this new Democratic party and the extremes they are willing to go to in order to push their agenda and stay in power. The Democrats already tried to eliminate the filibuster in order to ram through their agenda. Is there any doubt they will try to do it again if they are in position? Do you think Republicans should eliminate it now that the shoe is on the other foot and they are in that position? Should Republicans now be willing to match what Democrats tried and see if they can do what it takes to ram through their agenda?

I don't think you have to worry about that. Republicans are still playing by a set of rules that Democrats have long since abandoned.

Not reading all that. I'm happy for you tho. Or sorry it happened.

I grew up on a farm in western NC. I hunted with my dad as a boy- primarily to spend time with him (that wasn't back breaking labor). I left home at 18 and did not touch a gun until I retired and moved back to the farm. My cousins were into training bird dogs. I got hooked and started bird hunting again. I now routinely hunt in Texas and Nebraska as well as NC. I hunted yesterday with two GSPs and shot my limit of quail. I hunt exclusively with shotguns made before 1960- many are highly engraved works of art.

Welp as predictable as the sun rises and sets a culture war wedge opportunity arises and out slinks the maga. Hundreds upon upon of updates and posts in the economic thread, the Epstein thread, laughable maha actions, propaganda , and more with nary a substantial engagement. Let one clearly unwell person approach the president’s mansion and it is a condemnation of an entire ideological perspective of the world.

It is almost like the response is coordinated and/or the people who crawl out of their holes have zero principles other than division and dominance.

Seriously though, this is 100% the Facebook page of a person who has ruined the day of many many waitresses at Cracker Barrel.

I'm not sure a less true statement has ever been uttered.

The GOP is playing by no rules at all. DOJ is ignoring court orders by the hundreds (documented proof from district courts, including conservative district judges, can be found easily on the internet). Mid-cycle redistricting was a GOP initiative. SAVE act would be the largest election cheat since Tammany Hall. ICE is acting completely outside its jurisdiction (note: it does not have the authority to make the types of arrests it is making). You might have noticed that courts are routinely ordering the release of people in ICE custody. The DOJ doesn't even have a US attorney in several districts because they refuse to obey the statutes.

They confiscated ballots with no justification and are going to lose that fight. The military is committing murders on an almost daily basis in and around Venezuela and there will be consequences for that.

Trump is transferring money from the US treasury (or not putting funds in the treasury as must happen) to create a massive slush fund. He has been extorting equity stakes or profit sharing from US businesses by bad faith regulatory action. The corruption probably exceeds all corruption in US history combined. He has profited in the billions of dollars selling out US interests (allowing export of AI chips for $500 M investment in his coins, for instance). He has been trying to create new tariff regimes entirely without authorization.

The idea that the GOP is playing by the rules and Dems are not is such a perversion of reality that I wonder how you even function in life. Like, do you just walk into walls? Do you remember how to use doors? Do you have a garage? Open it before you try to drive out.

You talk about rationality and then write this insane rant. It's grotesque. Trump is ripping off the country left and right, destroying our institutions, and your response is a bunch of idiotic lies that would take less than a minute to debunk.
