Or maybe people simply want a baseline level of decency in their communities and conversations…What a bunch of emotional wimps.

This was the thread I was looking for. I recalled that Griff started it but couldn't recall the title.*bump*
NYC, maybe we should merge this with the super ignore thread, or vice versa?
And the ones who feel the need to announce their ignores are super-weenies.I've never put another poster on ignore, and tbh I think those who do are a bunch of weenies.
I had 2-3 people on Super Ignore; but, it effed up the site.I don't have anybody on ignore, but I'm good at scrolling...
I’m a big fan of these guys
I’m thrilled to have my viewpoints challenged. Avoiding that is not why I ignore people.Super ignore is a great feature. The need to tell everyone who you have on super ignore seems petty though. Just click the button and move on. I use the feature very sparingly because I actually like having my viewpoints challenged.
Is a super-weenie like a foot-long hotdog? And the ones who feel the need to announce their ignores are super-weenies.
Yeah, the whole “why are you afraid of opposing viewpoints” bullshit is most often trotted out by the same disingenuous, mundane, concern trolls and flamers who have shown over literally five+ years or more, that no evidentiary avalanche is large enough to change their mind. Yet, I’m suppose to respect their baseless feels? Nah. I don’t need the intellectually dishonest opinions of those 3-4 shit stirrers.I’m thrilled to have my viewpoints challenged. Avoiding that is not why I ignore people.
Certainly that’s not the only reason people put others on the list. It is certainly a reason that I have seen cited several times here though.I’m thrilled to have my viewpoints challenged. Avoiding that is not why I ignore people.
My determining factor isn’t so much decency as it is, “Does this poster make the discussion better in any substantial way?”Or maybe people simply want a baseline level of decency in their communities and conversations…
Yeah, super ignore can goof up the site functioning. I moved everyone I had on super ignore to regular ignore and it seems the best balance between not having to read the drivel and board functionality.I had 2-3 people on Super Ignore; but, it effed up the site.
