Wait just a damn second . . . is Zoo joining those of us in the Land of Cautious (But Also Really Confident) Optimism??? I feel better already!!!I’m just not getting so far down into the weeds as this thread is (and, super, I appreciate your in-depth posts - most of the time).
I’m avoiding getting mired down in polls.
I’d go crazy.
I remember on a Congressional campaign way back when Congressional campaigns rarely/never had media polls. We did one “internal” poll…..6 weeks before Election Day.
We were sworn to secrecy. We was 12-15 of us……that included 4-6 people who already knew the results.
We trailed 44-36.
You should have seen the shock on 5-6 faces…..”We’re LOSING!”
The other numbers were our guy was known by 45% of the polled. 36 of 45 liked him. Their guy was known by 96% of the polled. 44/96 liked him.
Our guy was just going on TV AND we had a vastly superior GROUND GAME.
I started smiling and said, “Look at the numbers……We’re going to kick his ass. NO ONE likes him and they like “D.” Saul, our media consultant laughed and said, “Exactly.”
The pollster and media consultant told us (the field grunts), “We’ve parked the car in the driveway……..You have to put it in the garage.”
Our guy won 56-44.
This election is TIGHT.
Harris has the better ground game. A VASTLY BETTER ground game.
The State Democratic Party just called my Mom and my Dad to make sure they were voting (they ALWAYS vote - I doubt they’ve ever not voted; they’ve voted on the 1st or 2nd day of early voting for YEARS). I told State Party they’d vote on Friday (they’ve been out-of-town for 3 weeks). The guy said he’d cross them off the call list…….unless they hadn’t voted on Friday or Saturday.
Yeah, but Joe Biden said......Wait just a damn second . . . is Zoo joining those of us in the Land of Cautious (But Also Really Confident) Optimism??? I feel better already!!!
We're going to win this thing. It's going to feel better than anything short of super's tantric sex. And when NC ends up at Kamala +4, I'll be dunking all over the pessimistic asses of my Dem brothers and sisters here for the foreseeable future!

SIAP. It's joever in PN.
I had a work trip to Philly last month and drove an across the whole state as I had some PTO and wanted to see Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Amish country etc.Totally anecdotal. However, I friend of mine does business in Pittsburgh and is in and out of there quite often. He called PA for Trump in 2016 due to the Trump signs in that area, and called it for Biden in 2020. He recently went to Pittsburgh and said it seemed less than 2020 as far as Trump support. I think Harris wins PA in the end relatively comfortably.
reference to an obscure quote from Midnight Run ("Sidney, relax. Have a cream soda. Everything's gonna be all over with in a few minutes.")All that and it ended with cream soda, blech
Should add that I saw this one specifically on the side of the interstate somewhere in infianaI had a work trip to Philly last month and drove an across the whole state as I had some PTO and wanted to see Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Amish country etc.
So I came in from the west and went through Pittsburgh, Altoona, State College, Harrisburg, Gettysburg, York, Lancaster, and the whole Philly area…I expected to see Trump signs everywhere. Was not the case. Did see a lot of a set of paid billboards with “Trump 2024: Endorsed by ___” that included RFK, Elon Musk and of all people, Dana White.
On the same trip, saw many more Trump signs in Ohio and Indiana.
