An ascending aortic aneurysm, particularly at a younger age, is not typical. Was the underlying pathology identified/addressed? I have a friend with MFS and know some folks who study aortopathies. It’s a challenging area from a basic science perspective.
They said it was because my valve was tight, causing the blood to come through it with more pressure like a thumb over a garden hose, causing the aneurysm. At that time the valve was not tight enough to be dangerous but the aneurysm had reached the size they recommend repair. In hindsight I should have just gotten both done at the same time but I didn't want to be a 30 year old on Warfarin and they told me my existing valve would last as long as a tissue valve, so I waited.

These seem to have been a good idea for me. Just had blood panels to see how I responded to them. My total cholesterol dropped from 188 to 140, and my LDL from 102 to 52. HDL changed slightly from 75 to 72. I've not had any noticeable side effects. There's been a few new random muscle pains but that could be me turning 73.

Good news for you.
