To be blunt, I honestly think those were crocodile tears. After seeing the way she's conducted herself since her husband's death, I don't think there's a sincere bone in her body. She's just another MAGA grifter cashing in on her husband's death and building his (now hers) "religious" empire to benefit herself in any that she can. I know that sounds harsh, but I do think it's the simple truth.

I don't think these kind of speeches move the needle at all anymore, because the vast majority of people just don't watch, other than already committed partisans. And in truth I think it's been that way for the past 20 or so years as the country has gradually fragmented - I don't think that Dubya or Obama or Biden's SOTU speeches moved the needle much either. IMO, this speech will be forgotten within 24 hours as Trump tweets some deranged shit and people focus on other things.

The longer this goes, the worse Patel looks, imo. And I'm not just talking about the gall to take a government jet on the taxpayer dime to see this (after he criticized his FBI Director predecessor under Biden for doing far less), but he just looks pathetic in these photos - like an unwanted party-crasher, or a guy who showed up after the battle was won and joined in like he actually had something to do with it, or the weakling sidekick who is so desperate to hang with the cool kids that he demeans himself for them at every turn. Definitely beta male loser behavior.
