Stephen A Smith is a clown

You couldn't be more wrong. Lebron is extremely intelligent. On the basketball court, he's got an Einstein level BBall IQ. Off the court, he's done very well for himself. His career has unfolded the way he wanted it; all his choices worked out for him; and he is surely the most financially successful American team-sport athlete of all time. Well, maybe not any more, with salaries in MLB going gonzo. But certainly Lebron is at the top of the charts for sports with salary caps. Not just on the field, but off the field as well.
Agree with most of what you wrote.

LeBron James came in a different era than Magic or Jordan.

I’d argue that Magic and Jordan were/are more “financially successful” team sport athletes than James.

LeBron plays and has played in eras of absolutely HUGE salaries. Magic and Jordan played in eras of much more limited salaries. Until LATE in his career, Jordan made squat in terms of NBA salary. IIRC, early in his NBA career, Magic signed a 25 year, million-dollar-a-year contract with the Lakers. That was considered an outrageously exorbitant deal that favored Magic.

Without a doubt, James has been incredibly smart with his wealth and life.

I often laugh at the Average Joes who mock athletes who blow fortunes as 18-25 year-old males. I know virtually no people who as 18-25 year-old males wouldn’t have blown it all if a Doctor J, Moses Malone, Dean Smith, Mrs. Jordan, Jerry Buss, Jerry West, etc. didn’t step in and help them or manage their financial lives. Many (most?) would be dead before 25 years-old.

LeBron James has been impressive as hell with his basketball career, his family, and his finances. He’s the son of a single teenage Mom from poverty-stricken Akron (yes, another family helped raise him from age 9 or 10).

LeBron should be celebrated as a ridiculous American Horatio Alger story.

Bronny shouldn’t even be on a G-League roster.

I’m not going to take the time to catalogue the myriad ways lebron has been a douche since HS. Go ahead and think I’m wrong or a “hater” or whatever you like. Because if you have truly never noticed anything he’s done that would raise all the questions I’ve raised, then we are just very, very different types of people who won’t ever agree on this.
Seems like a great husband and father. Never had any scandals. Why the hate?

Good take with the exception of your last line.

In think he had a bad turnover with about 7 seconds to play.
I just watched the last 15 seconds of the game. Some noteworthy things:

1. Josh Giddey airballed a five foot floater with 12 seconds left. I mean, it was like those DeAndre Jordan FTs you can see on blooper reels. It wasn't even close. Lebron came over the challenge the shot and probably altered it a little bit, but he wasn't really close to the ball.

2. I guess he felt as though he needed to make up for it. He was the one who got the steal on the inbounds pass from Lebron, then threw it to Coby White for the three. Then, of course, he buried the half-courter. So weird to airball the runner on the block and then do that.

3. Coby White's nickname is apparently Subzero! That's what the Bulls commentator called him, at least. Oh, that's so awesome. I remember when Austin Rivers was getting ready to enroll at Duke, he tried to give himself that nickname, 'cause he's "got ice water in his veins." And, well, um, yeah. Now Coby has it, having earned it.
