Super Bowl LX - FOOD, ADS, HALFTIME SHOW

The implication, which is often one of my complaints about some liberals, that good feelings and, in this case, music can fix everything. We need CBP and a secure border. We need ICE to remove people that we don't want here.
It worked well under Obama. Ya'll just want to hate and your king is using it as a distraction.

This current round of ice has both short and long term costs including $$ and American lives.

People that "we" don't want here? Who is this we? And why do we give a fuck about what the "we" wants.

That's the maga approach remove people we don't want here.

It's not about what "WE" want. It's about the process. When ICE is taking people who are following the process or are citizens, your argument falls apart.

But you knew that, standing there on top of that fence you like to talk from.

We know that's not going to happen. We just need laws that clearly define it. Everyone won't be happy, and that's fine.
Oh now you want laws to govern ICE, what happened to them answering to what "WE" want? Glad you woke up.

I don't think there was any implication from the language you quoted that good feelings and music can fix everything, but I would agree that sentiment is a big schmaltzy. But I really don't see how "we need CBP and a secure border" is inconsistent with the language you quoted.
A reference to CBP/secure border was just expounding on the "music and good feelings can fix anything" sentiment.

Right, but nothing in the language you were quoting suggested that we didn't need a border or laws or anything like that. Garrett is a state senator - I don't think he was suggesting "abolish borders and laws in favor of the power of music."

1) Who said music would fix everything?
2) if I can't fix anything then it can't break anything either... why do your people whine so much about it?
3) There are people believe that culture matters... it doesn't have to be one thing but there are symbols that show who we are and impacts some people... just like the visuals of ice militarization, shooting people and locking up kids... but not effectively getting anything done. Its a signal.

I don't want you here. Can they remove you?

Did kidry finally figure out this isn’t the game thread? That ignoramus was posting comments about the game and not about the “food, ads or halftime show”.

And he has the audacity to talk smack about music. Ha! The halfwit wouldn’t know an Ebm7b5 chord if it hit him right between his D#ϕ7and his F#m6.

(Pro tip Kidry: they're all the same fucking chord)
Nope. I can play an Ebm7b5 chord. I can play an F#m6. I can't play a D#ϕ7 chord. Also, the name of the chord is determined by the key. Next you'll try to tell me a B# is a C.

You obviously haven't been paying attention or you would know citizens have been detained and removed by ICE, too.
I know citizens have been detained in some cases, but I've not heard that citizens were deported. It seems like that would be HUGE news everywhere.

Every chord has multiple names, just different inversions. But yes, the name is determined by the key. In the key of Db minor, then it would be called an Ebm7b5 (not D#m7b5, even though they are the same chords).

Do you play guitar or piano? If guitar, play that Ebm7b5 inversion on the 6th and 7th frets. Now drop down to the 2nd and 3rd frets and play an F#m6… same exact sound right? Same notes, different inversion. The minor 6 chord grip is simply a different inversion of the m7b5 (also called half diminished) played on different strings and in a different position on the instrument.

So now, what is the function of that Ebm7b5 chord in the key if Db minor?

I cut off some off your handle in my reply (sorry). But to add to my comment back - you CAN play the D#ϕ7 chord (also known as D# half-diminished) because it's the EXACT same chord and configuration of an Ebm7b5. If you are playing an Ebm7b5 you are indeed playing a D# half-diminished or a D#m7b5 (same thing).

Now to your rather snide comment about B# and C notes -
a C note can be called a B# in classical music notation. They are enharmonic equivalents, meaning they sound the same (same pitch) but are spelled differently based on the musical context, such as the key signature. For example, in C# major, B# is used as the leading tone (major seventh) to avoid repeating the letter C.

Now... @GeeWhy ... you yourself said "the name of the chord is determined by the key." That's exactly what is happening when one refers to a C note as B#.

I studied Jazz chord theory at the School of Contemporary Music in Zürich Switzerland and have been playing in my own jazz band for over 30 years. I know what I'm talking about.

I'll be glad to DM you a video of me and my guitar playing, explaining and showing you all of this if you like.
