Turning Point USA Announces Super Bowl Halftime Show To Counter NFL’s Choice Of Bad Bunny
The organization will program its own entertainment.deadline.com
Cool, a safe space halftime show for the MAGA crowd!
Both of these things sound horrific!Way back in the dark ages when I was in HS (the early 90s), our youth group would have a Super Bowl (technically "Big Game") party and at half we'd watch a video specifically-produced to be shown instead of the halftime show that had a couple of Contemporary Christian Music videos and then testimonies from Christian "celebrities" (that many of us had no idea who they were).
This is what this reminds me of except much pettier, sadder, and with a lot more bigotry.
The videos in HS weren't that bad. I typically liked the music and the testimonies were when you went to get your snacks for the second half. Both of these things sound horrific!
They are the ones who think Trunk or Treat is actually fun for kidsThese people are idiots.

It's when folks set up in a parking lot and decorate their cars for Halloween (typically the trunk or rear hatch of the car) and then kids come through and trick or treat at each car for candy. More elaborate ones may also have games set up or cake walks or even offer food. They're commonly done in rural areas as an alternative to house-to-house trick or treating. What is trunk or treating?
That’s pretty cool. I can see how kids would like it. I get going house to house is traditional but in the end it’s all about costumes and candyIt's when folks set up in a parking lot and decorate their cars for Halloween (typically the trunk or rear hatch of the car) and then kids come through and trick or treat at each car for candy. They're pretty commonly done by churches (and sometimes civic groups) as an outreach event.
This gives you an idea of what it would look like, but these are much more elaborate than the average "trunk".
