Super Bowl LX halftime show

Cool, a safe space halftime show for the MAGA crowd!

Website is very red but otherwise spartan for now.

Meh, more power to them. There is plenty of counter programming already.

It will be interesting to see if this creates a dynamic that drive more people to watch the NFL one or the TPUSA one than watch the actual game. But it could have the upside of ending the NFL halftime show in the long run so they can spare us the extra long halftime and mini concert hullabaloo in the future.

Way back in the dark ages when I was in HS (the early 90s), our youth group would have a Super Bowl (technically "Big Game") party and at half we'd watch a video specifically-produced to be shown instead of the halftime show that had a couple of Contemporary Christian Music videos and then testimonies from Christian "celebrities" (that many of us had no idea who they were).

This is what this reminds me of except much pettier, sadder, and with a lot more bigotry.

Both of these things sound horrific!

What is trunk or treating?
It's when folks set up in a parking lot and decorate their cars for Halloween (typically the trunk or rear hatch of the car) and then kids come through and trick or treat at each car for candy. More elaborate ones may also have games set up or cake walks or even offer food. They're commonly done in rural areas as an alternative to house-to-house trick or treating.

They're pretty commonly done by churches (and sometimes civic groups) as an outreach event.

This gives you an idea of what it would look like, but these are much more elaborate than the average "trunk".

That’s pretty cool. I can see how kids would like it. I get going house to house is traditional but in the end it’s all about costumes and candy 😀
