China-US deal announced. I’m sure it’ll be a bunch of nonsense that basically goes back to status quo.
I just posted today that he would fold like a cheap suit once the store shelves started to empty out, looks like we didn't even have to wait that long. And only MAGAs will be dumb, gullible, and blindly loyal enough to believe that we actually got anything useful out of whatever "deal" he claims we got. His trade wars have been a disaster and will continue to be so.

Every word coming out of DC right now feels like part of a massive long-game market manipulation ploy. Somebody’s getting filthy rich from all this.
POTUS was just gifted a 747 from the Quatari Royal Family that will go to Trump's Presidential LIbrary for his personal use after he leaves office. With that kind of brazen shit happening, you are undoubtedly grossly underestimating the level of shadiness happening.

Provided there is a free election for a new President, I look forward to the government clawing back all the corruption gains made by the Trump crime family. If nothing else, bleed them dry by keeping them in court till MAGA World freezes over.

Exciting to hear the US and China struck a deal so quickly. All about making sure the relationship between the two countries is mutually beneficial and not one-sided. Exactly what the country voted for.
Yea, maybe we'll get the .6% drop in export tariffs like with the UK.

or we'll probably get a lot of economist trying to figure out what we actually got, like with the UK.

That shit fox news serves must be highly addictive, you guys sure do lap it up.

Yikes. The fact that Trump is rolling over so easily makes me think something bad is coming. All of those truckers not hauling freight and all of those ports not docking freighters is going to start showing up pretty quickly. Looks like someone has shown him that blaming Biden for everything ain't working anymore. All of those empty shelves this summer are going to bite him in the ass bigly. His approval numbers are already tanking, and they ain't seen nothing yet if there are widespread shortages.
Doesn't matter, you see that conservatives have rejoined us to flaunt the praises of China fucking trump at our expense. All trump has to do is his normal lies, you know like $1.99 a gallon gas, etc., and the cult will need praising him like he's Jesus Christ.

well, there was that one with Europe where the EU agreed to buy LNG but the EU isn't involved in LNG purchases at all.

There was that one with Mexico where he managed to shrink the commitment of Mexican soldiers at the border because he didn't know they had some there already.

There was that Nafta 2.0 that he negotiated . . . and then violated.
Winning.

He hasn't posted in several weeks, as far as I can tell he's never posted on this thread. Now he wants to drop by and pretend Lord Orangetrump has saved the world...

Speaking of uninformed voters, where's silence to tell how great the new deal is?

I'm sure China is going to simply pay us to take their products now.

Thanks bud! Coming up for air a bit, work is really busy for me from January through April. Plus 2 young kids at home now instead of just 1.

I tend to mostly tune out from politics inbetween campaign seasons but won’t be long until 2026 midterms start to become a focus.

Sure, sure. I have a hunch that if the 2026 midterms don't turn out well for board Trumpers then it will be even longer before they decide to return.

“… During the same briefing Sunday in Switzerland, Greer suggested that some sort of agreement had been reached with the Chinese side without providing specifics.

“It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought,” Greer said. He noted the U.S.’s massive trade deficit was why President Trump declared a national emergency and imposed tariffs on China and other countries.

“We’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us to work toward resolving that national emergency,” Greer said.

The White House issued a statement after the duo’s briefing, which was titled “U.S. Announces China Trade Deal in Geneva.” The statement included Greer and Bessent’s remarks from Switzerland, but nothing else.

The state-run Xinhua New Agency said both sides agreed to establish an “economic and trade consultation mechanism” that would involve recurring discussions. The agency said the U.S. and China would release on Monday a joint statement—a rare occurrence in recent years as bilateral relations have been strained. …”

So is it a real trade deal, or have the two sides just agreed to "start a formal negotiation process"? Still pretty vague on the details. The Chinese statement doesn't sound so much like an actual deal as simply an agreement to engage in "recurring discussions" on trade disputes. It will be interesting tomorrow to see the actual details and how Trumpers spin them.
