I posted when these "deals" were released that people should remain highly skeptical until the actual details came out, and to no one's surprise outside of MAGA it turns out that almost nothing is what they claimed it was. But as you said MAGA doesn't care, they just celebrated "owning the libs" for a few days by celebrating trade deals that apparently don't exist and which were certainly not as favorable to us as Trump and his minions made them out to be.

So this is what my mom was talking about yesterday when she told me "Trump is going to send everyone a check." I didn't ask/want the details but I guess Fox was talking it up because that's where my parents get their news.

Anyway, I just said back to her "I'm not interested in being bought off by a pedophile." She made a loud gasp and said that wasn't true and that I'd take the check. Told her if it walks like a duck..... and that I'd donate the check to whatever group I thought would piss Trump and MAGA off the most. Got real quite on the phone after that and was pretty much the end of our conversation.

I’d be willing to bet that Maine is already in a recession. A 30-35% drop in foreign visits is huge for a state with an economy that is dependent on tourism.

Few states, if any, are as influenced by Canadian tourism as Maine is. Towns on or near the border such as Lubec or Presque Isle or Houlton or Calais have been used to Canadians doing lots of shopping in Maine.

Places such as Old Orchard Beach (picture a wholesome Coney Island or Myrtle Beach) are borderline dependent on Canadian tourism.

Because Europe has a LOT of ugly windmills, including some visible from his golf course in SCotland.
And as Trump revelaed in that first slighly deranged first presser today, windmills are causing whales to commit suicide on Massachusetts beaches
