Guns have existed in the country for a looong time. Why don't you ask and answer what about our society has changed which has led to the same percentage of guns per population committing so many more murders? That’s true, but the Supreme Court won’t let us gun haters live in a society without the gun nuts that do almost all of these killings. So what are we to do?
Don't ask me what would take a book to answer. You have lived long enough, have a brain, and can see the picture that history, and current events, has painted for you. All you have to do is be willing to look at it and be honest with yourself.Describe, with specificity, which cultures are not compatible with one another, and why.
I do that all the time with MAGA and their evil followers.OK, what shall we label it when people who aren't Muslim do the same things? I'm just fine with labeling it a Muslim problem because it is. But it's also a Christianity problem and an atheist problem, etc.
Want to have that discussion?
Why is it always a "people I dislike" problem?
Been saying this my entire adult life. Organized religion is evil.I despise all organized religions.
The answer is both self-evident and too complicated to be explained succinctly?Don't ask me what would take a book to answer. You have lived long enough, have a brain, and can see the picture that history, and current events, has painted for you. All you have to do is be willing to look at it and be honest with yourself.
The US murder rate was substantially higher 100 years ago than it is today.Guns have existed in the country for a looong time.
A gun is no more deadly today than it was 100 years ago. The people willing to pick that gun up and use it what has increased. Who and why is that?
We had an assault weapons ban from 1994 - 2004 that worked and passed constitutional muster.Guns have existed in the country for a looong time. Why don't you ask and answer what about our society has changed which has led to the same percentage of guns per population committing so many more murders?
A gun is no more deadly today than it was 100 years ago. The people willing to pick that gun up and use it what has increased. Who and why is that? A gun has a trigger. Why? Without a major malfunction, it needs somebody to pull it to fire.
That is true, although we has fewer mass shootings. Again, the mechanisms are different and require different public policy parameters and solutions. The US murder rate was substantially higher 100 years ago than it is today.
The idea that there are the same percentage of guns per capita is so laughably false that you'd have to be stone cold dumb to believe it to be true.Guns have existed in the country for a looong time. Why don't you ask and answer what about our society has changed which has led to the same percentage of guns per population committing so many more murders?

Since y'all are rushing to note the religion of the attackers, I figured you would want to update your post that the hero is also Muslim. That guy is being universally hailed as a hero, risking his own life to save others. I bet most around him were simply recording the events on their phones. A true treasure.
Lols. Snoop with his name calling. So much easier for him when he only had to read things he agreed with.Hey, y’all, can we not engage with the idiots and trolls on this thread so that it can remain useful for discussing the thread topic?
It would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Are you like 12 years old? I know this board makes you feel important, but off the high horse.Hey, y’all, can we not engage with the idiots and trolls on this thread so that it can remain useful for discussing the thread topic?

You just did...and I don't disagree.I think it can be reasonable to discuss why individuals within certain groups are more prone to terrorism and the best ways to address it. Just like we are trying to address an upsurge in White Supremacist type terrorism today.
The US did a fairly good job of addressing white supremacist type terrorism in the 50's and 60's, and leftwing terrorism in the 60's and 70's. We didn't do it by hiding our head in the sand and hoping it would go away. That doesn't mean we should label whole groups as terrorists either.
