The best fast food value for your buck

A Cookout is opening up fairly close to me, taking over what was a Wendy’s for as long as I can remember. I almost never go to fast food chains unless I’m on the road, but I might have to visit this Cookout when it opens.

If you have the McDonald's app, you get a free medium french fry when you spend $1. Depending on the restaurant, you can get a cheeseburger and medium fry for under $3. If you go with just a drink, you get a large drink and medium french fry for about $1.60.

I like the Wendy's Biggie Bag for lunch. But quantity of food for lunch is a big issue for me - I don't need a huge pile of food then. It's also hard to go against a Waffle House omelet - that's usually a good amount of food for breakfast!

It’s not really fast food (though it usually comes out of the kitchen quickly) Denny’s makes a great Loaded Veggie omelet. A 3-egg omelet filled with fresh spinach, sautéed mushrooms, fire roasted red bell pepper, onions and Swiss cheese. All veg is sautéed first, then folded in the eggs properly.
Comes with hash browns but I get the roasted red-skinned potatoes instead. Whole wheat toast and you’ve got a helluva healthy meal that is all fresh, whole food. $12.99
Definitely a bang for the buck. I’ve tried several local breakfast joints and their omelettes pale in comparison. Not even close.

Cook Out isn't a Raleigh thing. There's one in Wilson and, according to google, all over the South. Char-Grill is a Raleigh thing...
I looked it up because I feel like I often see signs for them. The google says Charlotte has 13 locations and Raleigh has 5.

Char-Grill? According to their website, they have 9 locations, 4 in Raleigh and one each in Wake Forest, Clayton, Morrisville and Cary, all of which I'd classify as Greater Raleigh. They do have one location in Benson too...

No, I was referring to cookout but can see that wasn’t clear.
