Are any of the major FF chains "good value" any more?
If I wanted to spend $15 or a little more I can go anywhere else

Been a while since I've been to either. Saw that there's still a Doghouse in Hillsborough and I always glance over at Missy's when I drive by.Missy's Grill in Efland is pretty good both breakfast and lunch.
Also like the doghouses.

Cook Out isn't a Raleigh thing. There's one in Wilson and, according to google, all over the South. Char-Grill is a Raleigh thing...Its a Raleigh thing.

Char-Grill? According to their website, they have 9 locations, 4 in Raleigh and one each in Wake Forest, Clayton, Morrisville and Cary, all of which I'd classify as Greater Raleigh. They do have one location in Benson too...I looked it up because I feel like I often see signs for them. The google says Charlotte has 13 locations and Raleigh has 5.
