Can’t say. But I have seen multiple cuts of this same video.

I do think there’s way too much emotional nuance for this to be an outright fake though. I feel like a fake would be more direct. Like the way her face goes though six different emotions in a two seconds, that would seem to me to be hard to fake.

Either way, I 100% agree it reads uncanny valley. That’s why I think it may be best to cut her some slack here and maybe see this though the lens of “heavily traumatized, heavily medicated” woman.

In a weird way maybe it makes her into an (somewhat) sympathetic figure? I mean no matter how terrible person she may or may not actually be, it doesn’t mean it ok for her to be used as pawn, a figurehead, and trotted around like a show pony immediately after her husband was assassinated. Like maybe she needs some time to grieve in private.

A very kind 'take' given the crowd to which she is affixed. I'm not being sarcastic nor snarky either. That is more forgiveness than I can muster in these times.

Erika needs to lay low for the next few months and deal with her grief and provide comfort to her children.

I think 95% of her “odd” or “off” behavior can be explained by her still experiencing the trauma of her husband’s assassination. Jesse showed her a clip of Charlie speaking and she practically had a nervous breakdown on camera.

She deserves some grace.

My MAGA/Fox News loving mom got tired of the over the top Charlie Kirk coverage a few days after his death and now complains that "he wasn't God" every time there's some event... for him. Of course she had no problem with Kirk's past comments, just got tired of all the coverage.

Her annoyance with the coverage has led her to actually see that Erika Kirk is more than willing to carry on the grifting and now constantly says that "Erika sure cries a lot but there's never any tears."

I also think she deserves space to deal in her own way. And I object to the dated notion that some seem to have that as a widow she has to parade about in black veiled mourning however long society thinks is required of a young widow.

That said, someone close to her might should do her a favor and suggest that maybe all these highly public and rather tacky promotional appearances may not the way to go. I get it, maybe in the face of the horrific murder of her husband in front of her and her kids she views keeping his organization front and center as taking charge of the chaos and honoring his life. I genuinely get that.

But it seems to me like a true friend might suggest she step back and take a deep breath out of the public eye. She seems kind of manic right now. And she seems like a potential target for those who want to take advantage of her for their own political purposes.

Very well said.

Agree with you on this one, Ram. Not to diminish her agency but she does deserve grace, and also better people managing her schedule.

I certainly don't think that she needs to parade around in black veiled mourning dress, but given her former husband's statements about "godly women" dressing appropriately and not "provocatively" (his words) I do think there's a good deal of old-fashioned Evangelical hypocrisy and double standards involved in how she was dressed when she met Vance. What bothers me is the never-ending hypocrisy and double standards these people apply to themselves compared to others who don't believe as they do. I've seen it pretty much my whole life, and it gets really, really old.

So are we saying that the other hoodwinked, misinformed, and broken souls that constitute the rank and file of MAGA also deserve such compassion and grace extended?
If they watched their husband get shot in the neck a couple of months ago, yes, I’d give them grace. I abhor what the Kirks stand for. And I understand why people are not sympathetic when Erica is consistently out there using the attention on her to make political statements. But I still find a lot of the comments and jokes about her to be inappropriate and unnecessary.

I agree. Switch the parties in this situation and this clip would be on FoxNews 24/7 for weeks.

Hypocrisy is a feature; not a bug.
