“Left on everything in contrast his family” is hilarious. What does that even mean? I’m “left on everything” in contrast with MY family and I’m still much further to the right than like 99.99% of everyone who votes democratic.

Just take the L on this one, man. You swung and missed on what the identity of this shooter would be, like you swing and miss on literally everything else here. Just take the L and hope that the rest of your political party actually is jolted awake by one of their own getting his throat blown off and turns down the rhetoric and temperature.

racism is a spectrum. One can have conscious or unconscious bias. If your line for who is and is not racist is David Duke, then you are setting the bar incredibly high.

I was not referring to anything you said or anything recent on here. Instead someone mentioned he said he did not believe in empathy. He did say that. But he meant he thought it was impossible to see something through another's eyes. Instead he preferred the word sympathy. And yes, a person's own words can be edited to remove context. All I said here is there is an abundance of Kirk on video to look at to make your own conclusions. That was my point.

Well it is true. I favor tougher gun laws. But clearly gun violence is a result of the freedoms the second amendment provides.

Maybe you and I see the definition of "racist" differently. I think the term is most frequently misused. I generally apply the literal definition of the word to its meaning and don't label people as racist for making a comment that happens to include race in it. Not in all cases, but that term is more defined by a person's actions than rhetoric. Most of what the left views as racist I view as bigotry.

I would agree it’s contradictory. However, I think the word “enough” in Strange’s post is relevant.

I’m sure you can dig up the full clip. Also, the one talking about seeing a black pilot and wondering if he’s qualified. I’m not posting direct quotes for a reason, I don’t recall them off the top. But the internet will provide you all the context you need.

Claiming that high achieving women of color do not have the brain processing power to achieve those positions on their own is about as racist as it gets, from any perspective. The fact that he might open the door for one of those women in person doesn't make it not racist.

Right, I hear that, but calling human beings “necessary sacrifices” is objectively a really distasteful/heartless comment at best and a pretty despicable thing to say at worst. I’m not sure that any of the families of the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of school children who have been blown away by gun violence over the last 20 years would be happy to hear that their kids were “necessary sacrifices” so that a bunch of wing nuts can have AR-15’s.

My bar is based more on actions than rhetoric. Not excusing rhetoric but to me rhetoric has to go pretty far for me to label someone as racist. If you watched that clip, it wasn't just being nice. There was genuine or sincere compassion and empathy in his words. I think it is awfully difficult to fake sincerity. My point isn't to try to change anyone's perception of CK because I don't know enough about him. But given the deep love some have and deep hatred other have I wanted to learn more.
