The Charlie Kirk Thread

As of September 2025, the feud gained tragic attention after the alleged assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10 at Utah Valley University. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson (from a conservative Mormon family), reportedly admired Fuentes and hated Kirk for “not being conservative enough” and “spreading hate” (ironically, from a Groyper perspective, Kirk was too soft).
What's that from? Google AI?

How dishonest and odious that this administration and right wing media are leveraging Kirk's murder to demonize the trans community and go after "trans terror cells" (which definitely exist! trust us!) when the crime was committed by a white, cisgender male raised in the right's extreme gun culture. Even the evidence presented in the information filing indicates that the possibly-transitioning roommate had no knowledge of what Robinson was planning. It seems that Robinson could no longer tolerate Kirk's years-long, dehumanizing rhetoric directed toward the LGBTQ community, of which he was allegedly a part, and made the catastrophically destructive decision to take matters into his own hands.

Some in the MAGAverse have now pivoted to the narrative that Robinson being cisgender is actually worse than if he were transgender because this indicates that the trans community is using their toxic ideology to radicalize "normie" liberals who will then carry out political violence. But hey, we all need to bring down the temperature, right?

My wife works with a guy who has a trans child (an adult, but his child). He is very conservative, but he loves his adult child and is pro-trans rights. Probably still voted for Trump though, because taxes.
I was a Republican for twelve years and have been pro-gay since I was seven.
Dick Cheney is pro-gay.
Nick Fuentes is gay. So is Lindsey Graham. And a shit load of other elected republicans.
And two friends from my high school are gay and very far to the right politically.
I’m just saying this one thing doesn’t make someone automatically “leftist.” Or even political at all.

Tim Miller

He’s apparently to the left of his mother.

And maybe some of her sister wives.
A tidbit in the charging documents (from the texts I think) was he thought his dad had become more MAGA since the 2024 election. His dad didn’t kill anyone so not intending an excuse for murder here, just noting the shooter thought his dad at least had moved more to the right, which is probably indicative of the parents (at least dad) and son moving farther apart overall, which maybe enhanced the shooter’s resentment isolation (unjustifiably so at the point when we’re talking about planned murder).

One thing I think missed in the dissection of the texts is that Gen Z does not text each other. At all. Ever. They use 100 other platforms. Has it been confirmed that these are text messages? Why would people who are active on Telegram not use telegram? That is the most striking thing to me. I could text one of my 18-25 year old students right now and expect a response at quarter til never. But hit them on snap or telegram or whatsapp...then you get through.

Trying to understand the theory here. the killer is in jail. Alive. He apparently has confessed. Dad turned him in. The idea is fbi fabricated evidence and why? His story will come out.

Because Trump is a horrible person who lies all the time, and they are desperate to make it look like the killer is a crazy liberal. It's not hard to follow.

Thanks. I did see those comments, I wonder if it was for anything other than gay or trans rights. So far, I can’t rule out that there is anything “liberal” about this guy other than this one issue.
Fwiw, some pages back I noted when all the Groyper stuff came out that I’d wait a little for the dust to settle before I’d feel confident saying he was alt-right. I’m going to have to see more than him being gay and supporting gay rights to proclaim he is politically on “the left.”
My feeling now is he isn’t really political at all. Just a nutbag who was good with a gun and hated Kirk because of Kirk’s anti-gay and trans stances.
I’m sure more will come out and I guess time will tell.
This is where I'm at. There hasn't been anything "political" about him put out there. He has beliefs about trans rights, and being gay, etc., but that isn't political in nature, as others have eluded to. If he was "political" there would be a lot more info about it in public.

All of us here would be considered "political" because of our posts here. From him there's a total of 2 posts on discord that mention politics, with no indication of which way he leans.

The nihilist thing makes sense.

But this "leftist tans ideology" stuff is complete and utter bullshit.

I don’t know if I like the fact that Steve Bannon said something substantially similar to what I posted earlier. I don’t find myself in good company here.

“If I can get my rifle, I will have left no evidence. Other than this text message. Oops.”

The FBI is run by a podcaster who had the note then didn’t have it.

The note is not normal, but very convenient for all key parties.

Patel is unintelligible when talking about it and the note.

Something stinks
Ok. The truth will come out. Sometimes things are as they appear. For the fbi to fabricate evidence in a slam dunk case is a level of stupidity I can't grasp. His story will be told almost certainly from him.

“If I can get my rifle, I will have left no evidence. Other than this text message. Oops.”
I totally get the skepticism of Gen Zers texting like this, and even to some extent the skepticism of talking about all of this over text message.

However, if Robinson (a) knows even the basics of iMessage E2E encryption (assuming these guys used iPhones) and (b) believes that his roommate/partner would be willing to cover up for him, then he may have convinced himself that his conversations with the roommate were “safe.” And he’d be right (assuming he truly didn’t leave other evidence elsewhere - i.e., Discord)!

However, given the unqualified statements from the prosecution that the roommate is “cooperating fully,” that would mean all the Apple encryption in the world wasn’t going to protect that convo anymore. Roommate would just unlock his phone and - SMARTLY - wash his hands of any accessory/obstruction risk.

Maybe Tyler is not a total dumbass, but was just dumb in love. That’s a story as old as time.

Admitting the crime and on Discord is a totally different story, but I think he only posted there once he knew the gun wasn’t recoverable, and he was good and fucked by that point.

“Oh … and the note I left under your keyboard, which I just texted you to find even though that’s superfluous since I’m texting you now about what I told you in that note I left before the shooting and which initially says in the past tense that I had the opportunity to carry out the shooting. So destroy the note, but you can take a picture of it, my love.”
