Top sirloin, not tip. The tip is tougher from what I read.I was looking at a sirloin tip the other day, might try one of those in Jan.
My family is done with turkey, it will probably be years before we make another.
The wife always makes a classic, old-fashioned Appalachian holiday meal… I help out with a simple roast chicken, roasted red potatoes, and “candied” carrots (I insist on these, she doesn’t care either way. Made with blanched baby carrots, wild honey and a spice blend of ginger, cinnamon, all-spice, etc.).What's on everyone's holiday menus this year?
Just got done with all my food shopping. Chaos as expected
Find me a stranger Xmas menu:
My in-laws have a really odd tradition of having spanikopita home-made and shrimp (from frozen aisle) cocktail.
The spanikopita (individual triangles) is really labor intensive, but a fun little group activity and they're always tasty.
The shrimp are always overcooked and just don't go well with spanikopita (or egg nog, cookies, whatever).
The "side" varies from yr to yr, somehow this year they decided on devilled eggs.
My mother in law makes an amazing pie crust, and great fruit or choco pies, this yr went with pumpkin (???, and it wasn't good).
