OK, so this is weird. I thought I had responded to this post but I don't see mine. I thought you had mentioned a band named Sumac, not Darkest Hour. I thought maybe you had responded to my ghost post.

If I didn't respond to you I meant to. Thought i did. Don't understand how I didn't.
 
Today I have been listening to Eric Burden. Back in the day I was in junior high school( 1963-64) and the Beatles were the thing especially among the girls. Being the contrarian I was, I adopted the Animals as my favorite band who were the bad boys.

The Animals were influenced by American R&B and blues which is still my love.

So I'm listening to Eric Burden, lead singer of the Animals, singing this favorite Eric Burden solo of mine( stick around for Traffic/Steve Winwood )

Oh my man I hope you are not responding to my vocalist Mount Rushmore.

Van Morrison is my absolute favorite of all time

He is #1 on blue eyed soul singer Mount Rushmore

I had the privilege to see him in Alex Cooley's nightclub in Atlanta in 1978 on his Wavelength tour
I have 9 of his CDs
I wear a Van the Man tee shirt with pride
I watch Van's " Caravan" performance from the Last Waltz at least once a month. It was the show stopper

oh man you just posted my favorite ...

I had that album back in the day now long gone and in the 90s I began to search for the CD and finally after months of searching I snagged a used cd for $25 which is one of the best purchases I have ever made(y)

I have my blue eyed soul Mount Rushmore :

Van Morrison
Daryl Hall
Mick Hucknall ( Simply Red )
Bobby Hatfield ( Righteous Brothers )

His performance at the Last Waltz says it all and I defy anyone to say it don't get better than that.

I am a Rascals fan and old enough to know them as the Young Rascals:)

and Steve Cropper was the go to guitarist for Stax artists but probably best known as the guitarist for the Blues Brothers:cool:

I had the pleasure to attend the black tie reopening of the remodeled Memorial Hall and saw Tony Bennett perform.

I can't argue with your Mt Rushmore at all

and I'm sure there may be some posters who would claim Enrico Caruso, Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras should be on Mt Rushmore:)

My ( not the ) Mt Rushmore is based upon which singers whose voice I would love to have
 
Yeah my list is pop singers. It's difficult to rank tenors due to the variety of material and technical proficiency among all of them and quite frankly a certain level of homogeneity among styles - I'd probably include Caruso and Pavarotti on a Mt Rushmore list. Domingo had a very versatile career but greatest of all time? Unsure - Carreras is mostly known for being part of the 3 tenors - he has a beautiful voice but he isn't technically impressive compared to some of the greats. There are others who are less known now like Jussi Bjorling and Lauritz Melchoir who warrant mention. Bjorling in particular is a great.
