The Music Thread

Yep, Garry is Paul's younger brother. He retired recently and has been serving on the Henderson City Council for several years.
Mike Clark and his older brother John were good buddies of mine. We formed a group known as the Foons that goofed on the self important high school organizations . King Nyle became aware of our group and organized a train trip to visit us as a part of his UNC Invisible University curriculum

Does anybody know any female singers who might be interested in singing vocal tracks on songs I'm writing? They don't have to be any good, just something like Gillian Welch or Emmylou Harris or Allison Krauss (I kid, I kid)...but an interest in folk/americana music would be good, and an appreciation for the poetry of Rumi would be balls to the wall. Any of you know anyone?

I saw the best rock concert ever in RFK Stadium with the Dead and the Allman Brothers, but this my favorite story:

I was returning home in Chapel Hill from work in Durham. As I travelled up Franklin Street, I encountered a major traffic jam which was somewhat confusing. Was there a horrible auto accident ? What the hell was going on ?

As I inched along I noticed there were numerous folks dressed in tie dyed tee shirts and wearing headbands walking along the sidewalk beside me. I leaned out my window and asked what was happening.

A young man responded, "Its the Dead, man." They were playing a concert that night...

My favorite song because I had a Sugar Magnolia girlfriend way back in the day

Imo, that and Workingman's Dead are the their best albums.

Was this one of the Cameron shows in the 70's or the Dean Dome shows in 93? I was at the latter, the former were a little before my time..
