I'm about to engage in a guilty pleasure and buy the latest Taylor Swift CD. I love every song. Don't hate me

I would go far as to say there is no variety on the album, but it has a good beat and you can dance to it (Dick Clark's American Bandstand)I've returned from a weekend road trip with my 16yo old daughter. We listened to it several times. There are some good songs. She knows how to put together a hit. Opalite, Ruin the Friendship and Honey are probably my top 3.
My one criticism is overall there just isn't much variety on the album. From a production standpoint, everything sounds pretty similar.
The past seems realer than the present to me now
I've got memories to last me
When the sky is gray
The way it is today
I remember the times when I was happy
I wouldn't go that far but he's certainly up there with Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and a couple more. One of my favorites from what is my favorite artist. Greatest American songwriter, bar none imo.

I gotta go with Smokey Robinson. He wrote or co-wrote 80 hit songs including hits for the Temptations, The Supremes, and Marvin GayeOne of my favorites from what is my favorite artist. Greatest American songwriter, bar none imo.
I love me some Rickie Lee Jones and used to have her poster on my family room back in the 80s Her debut album is great but she has others that are equally good. My favorite is her concert at Red Rocks. The performance is amazing and her band is so so good !I've been reading Rickie Lee Jones' autobiography and also been checking out her music - I admit before I starting reading about her I knew very little about her - I knew her one big hit "Chuck E's in Love" and I had heard that the Steely Dan song "Rickie don't lose that number" was about her - which apparently isn't true! But so far the book is good and I've enjoyed diving into her music - she was inspired by Laura Nyro who I've also never really listened to and I've been listening to her debut album today and it's pretty dang good - incredible singer
