I mean its Tuesday
But the last few hours trend is a massive sleet /ice storm .Sleet Okay , Freezing rain bad
Neither is two feet of snow-which is what all the weather apps have been saying the last 24 hours...........
The weather apps are garbage for that kind of stuff. Just listen to the meteorologists.

Southernwx.com has more people, but that's the one with the mods that take it way too seriously. Americanwx.com id the other. They have a southeast sub forum.
So the guys on American wx are semi suicidal this morning after terrible models have been coming out.

I get it though. It's gone from an amazing snow storm to a repeat of, what was it, 2003's crippling ice storm? I remember my parents had to go to the Triangle Sports Plex in Hillsborough to take showers cause they had no power for 15 days

If it keeps trending north it will be nothing but cold rain for much of NC. At this point I would rather have that than ice.

This. A major ice storm is horrible - massive power outages, sometimes for days, can't travel as long as the temp stays low, it's a nightmare unless you've got a generator ready to go, and the great majority of people don't.

Our gravel drive has about 20-25 foot drop over 1500 feet with a sharpish dip where it crosses a culvert in the middle of a curve. Then it rises about 20 feet in the last 200 to reach the main road. If we get any kind of ice, I'm not going to try to go anywhere.

AccuWeather has about 2 inches of ice for the triangle. I sure hope that is sleet... Though Sunday it said freezing rain and 0.6 inches of ice. 0.6 inches of freezing rain and folks, powers out EVERYWHERE and pine trees everywhere are falling down

Ummmm - they really just put up a graphic saying 0.5-0.75" of ice in the Triangle, and OVER 0.75" in Charlotte and Fayetteville.

Let's all say our Hail Trumps that he changes the weather with a sharpie back to snow
