Raleigh office of the National Weather Service cut back the freezing rain totals for the Triangle. Seems they are thinking the heavier precip will be to the north and that we'll see snow and sleet to start. I watched Greg Fishel's latest video on Facebook and it seemed he thinks the freezing rain will be worse south of the Triangle.
Fishel has to be as old as Gandalf now. He's always been really solid - since TWC was about the actual weather.

I would bank on Ethan's forecast from North Carolina Weather authority. He consistently outperforms the professional meteorologists storm after storm and year after year. He is an absolute savant at understanding patterns.

I hear you
Sorry , but what does he say?

Yep.

That Wulfie knows what he's doing 10 times more than the professionals. Give him all the respect he deserves. He saved lives during Helene. He might be saving lives again.

I don’t know. That model hung on to ridiculous forecasts until mid day today. Apple really needs to make a change. It is embarrassing.
The Apple weather app is currently, at this minute, predicting a foot of snow for Greensboro. We will lucky to get an inch and a half of snow. it's bizarre.

Models have been showing less precip with the heavier precip going to our north and that means less freezing rain. Hope that's what we see happen. We might go from over a foot of snow to a crippling ice storm to not much from what the models were showing 5 days ago. They really do suck when it comes to winter weather here in NC outside 1 or 2 days.

What does to "our north" mean - Virginia or places like the Triad here in NC?
