Kind of surprised if that's all it is that it was enough to make him walk away as a popular governor and potential presidential candidate. It might turn out to be a really big fraud but the federal government would share quite a bit of the blame for this I would think. I'm not sure who actually administers the programs.

Yep. I really don't know for sure about a political scandal in a different state. I hadn't heard about it until I saw a few YouTube clips about some Republican activist going around to daycare centers and filming them empty. I didn't think there would be much to it because of the holidays but maybe it was enough to get Walz to step away

If you or anyone else wants to give the real details, I'm happy to read it.

My daughter is on the Spectrum. Social Security manages Autism programs. So, Trump should resign as he was POTUS in 2020! We have struggled to get support for her from the SS for her. She can't live on her own, but we mainstreamed her through school and (7 years of) college - got her degree! She can work part time in lower level retail. I'm trying to find her something with writing (science, news). But she'll never be capable of even high poverty level earnings... and with years of OT, speech therapy she can do self-care. Mental health and disability resources are a mess after 18 years of age...especially in a bootstraps state like Texas.

He was exceptionally nice. I interacted with him a bit but we were by no means friends or anything. About a year later, I ran into him at the Conan O’Brien show when he was a guest and I was backstage. He remembered me and gave me a hug. Real joy of a human being.

A candidate like Beshear only makes sense under the old Dem nomination process when the PTB/Super Delegates called the shots and put their thumbs on the scale. The Dem base won’t stand for this any longer and will demand a fair, open and REAL nomination. That will deliver a hard left candidate who will promise retribution against MAGA and a socialist agenda.

That being said, I've been so busy this last two weeks, I've read very little news. I do hope that this is handled legally (trump wouldn't understand that) and those who were defrauding the system pay for their poor choices.

The best thing for both parties and America, would be for him to die. Then the republicans could present a better candidate than a cult member and the dems wouldn't have the opportunity to fuck up again and run against him instead of on their achievements.

Both parties are really disappointing at this time in history, I really hope that changes in the next few years.
