Looking back, UNC hasn’t had this kind of dominant opening win (win by over 20 points and a big halftime lead as well) since 2015-16.

I like the sound of that considering I don’t think we’ve had a team quite as good as the 2016 team since then. And, yes, I know we won the national championship in 2017, but I’d take the 2016 team over the 2017 team in a head-to-head matchup.

Some random thoughts:

* Bogavac looks like he makes a big difference for this team off the bench, TBD what happens if he and Stevenson switch starting/bench roles - offense/defense trade-off

* Bogavac looked like he got gassed late in the first half and never really got it back; maybe the adrenaline rush of getting cleared at the lat second deserted him

* Zayden High had a rough game - big dropoff on both sides of the ball when he subbed in for Veesaar tonight, but presumably the kid needs time to work off the rust

* Evan’s needs an extra beat to get off his three point shot but it certainly looked good tonight

* Luka’s three point release is pure but he only went 1-5 per the box score (I swear I thought he hit more than one, I may have thought one of Evan’s threes was Luka).

* Luka’s defense was not so great

* Dixon brings decent defense off the bench and he and Powell play hard, but seems like a we have a noticeable gap between the top 6 players and the next 3 from the bench rotation

*Veesaar has soft hands catching the ball and looks good passing from the top of the key, but he is not strong against contact on rebounds oriented against the heavy-set defender Cark had

* Seth had a quiet 12 points

On Luka's defense, I think he is crafty and has good hands. He may get beat from time to time, but he also will run players into bad situations and pick a few pockets along the way.

I like your ritmos threads… can we get a separate thread for each game moving forward? Instead of tagging a new game onto this original thread - from last month?

Your ritmos threads look to be the official game threads on this board and it’s gonna get to be a mess if they’re all squeezed on to this one.

Pretty please? 🤓

I am good with that if others are as well.

I think James Brown should be the first sub for Veesaar

All I'll say about that is that at this time last year, I didn't think Lubin should ever see the court. Not saying you're wrong but you sure might be hasty.

I'm gonna say this right here - but I may make mention of it on another thread - screw Lubin. I mean, fuck him. Really. Guys like him are the reason the transfer portal literally sux. 4th team in 4 years?! Fuck him. That's ludicrous if not Lubincrous. I didn't neccessarily welcome him here last year - 3 teams in 3 seasons! To me, that was a huge red flag and I was hesitant to pull for him even though we desperately needed a big. (And yes, I know he came on stronger at the end last season). But to then transfer to one of (if not the) biggest in-state rivals? Fuck him. And while we're on the subject he SHOULDN'T have ever seen the court at this time last year! We all saw him play in November/December. He sucked. And regardless of pts and rebounds at lolstate this season, he sux now too! (Rant continued on another thread.)
