Trump Assassination Attempt Investigations

This is purely anecdotal on my part, but it appears to me that Team Trump is having to work A LOT harder to try to gin up another round of Trump supporter assassination momentum so far … they are definitely trying, but I’m not seeing the same ubiquity or intensity of the LFG fan/supporter responses so far. It seems more top down than bottom-up.

Part of that may be Trump fatigue but part of it may be a weird split — a lot of his core base have been VERY activated by the “illegal Haitian cat eater” stuff. THAT is the red meat they hunger for and the weirdo would-be assassin story is getting plenty of attention but not as much apparent intensity.

The grass roots supporters seem most fixated on hurling the “you did this” allegations at Harris and Dems, but are fumbling to tie it back to their more powerful immigration fix.

The problem with throwing spaghetti at the wall is it becomes very hard to monitor the number of noodles.

That dumbass doesn't realize that any thinking person holds Trump responsible for J6 not because he claimed the election was stolen but because he instructed the very folks who went to the Capitol and committed an insurrection to go there and ensure that he was named the winner.

And it's the very same reason that any thinking person understands that Trump is a threat to democracy.

Right. How do you get bent out of shape that Trump is being called a threat to democracy if you understand that January 6th was because of his allegations that the election was stolen? They are one and the same.

I’ll totally support a military protection detail of Trump on one condition. Between now and Nov 5, the only statements (verbal or social media) he makes are exclusively about his policies and how they’ll better the lives of all Americans. Nothing negative about his opponent, just how his plans on Day 1 will make our country better. And actual plans…not concepts of a plan.

yeah, i remember reading years ago about the fact that his constant travel to his clubs and other relatively unsafe places and very public outings and unsanctioned/unsecured public events were unbelievably costly and straining on the secret service, much moreso than any other president in history.

Seems like Trump and the Secret Service could figure this out. Presidents have been playing golf for a while now. Maybe different courses or more security? Definitely can't have another scare like this one.

Yeah, he was wounded (apparently) in the first shooting attempt and his supporters bragged afterwards that the incident had just won them the election, but people had forgotten about it and moved on within a week. My guess is this won't move the needle either, and we'll be talking about something else within a few days.

This is rich. Having the Trumper Right calling out anybody for "ridiculous and inflammatory rhetoric" is truly like being called ugly by a frog. They're the definition of inflammatory and vile rhetoric - as Vance's own rhetoric on Springfield proves.

ETA: I just saw where Trump has yet again called Kamala a "Marxist Communist." That's perfectly fine, but we can't (accurately) call Trump a fascist. And so the double standard continues.

But he is, and is supporters are okay with it. They even tried to have an insurrection when he lost to overturn the election results. And the rhetoric isn't why two people have tried taking a shot at him. The first one was a nut just trying to get attention and become famous. The second one voted for Trump and then saw himself how awful he was and wanted to get rid of him for another Pub to take over, not because he supported Harris.

And I guess they are just going to forget about Jan 6. Trying to overturn election results because you want a country only for white, straight Christian nationalists is worse to me than someone taking a shot at Trump. And the Pubs still supporting Trump are supporting the person responsible for it because they are okay with fascism, too, if it gets them the kind of nation they want.
