Trump at the UN | Escalatorgate!!!

Remember when Hugo Chavez came to the UN and remarked about the lingering smell of sulfur and the devil's recent appearance there?

Yeah, uh, would be very difficult to argue with anyone who has the balls to say that tomorrow.... good lord I just can't believe we are where we are, and all signs point to it only getting worse
 
I've been busy almost the entire day and haven't given a thought to Trump at the UN. I've read absolutely nothing about it beyond the title of this thread.

I guarantee he said something really stupid and embarrassing.

I have actually been saying this is at least in part due to that generation no longer being here to explain, with real personal experience, why we do not want to go down this road.

Those guys all saw right thru Donald fucking Trump and asshats just like him. They knew what America was bc they had fought for it, as normal everyday regular citizens, and made the world they gifted us. No chance they would give that up to a coward grifter who draft dodged and is the biggest con man this side of Bernie madoff.

It is just so obvious to me. You know how when folks debate the MVP in any given sport will point to a team's w/l record when that guy was out? Well, the "Greatest Generation" proved that they deserve to be so named in their own lifetimes and now again in their absence.


So mpaer, while I do totally agree with you on how our forefathers would react, I have to say I even more so lament the fact that they are not here to course correct our country (and world order) that they bestowed upon us.



Apologies for extra rant here, but what is also so crazy to me is that MAGAts want to return to some wonderful past of yore while at same time tossing out the exact same things that made that past so "great" -- ie, the US as the unquestioned global leader which made us so prosperous for 70 years. They are literally tossing out the world WE owned and shitting on the legacies of all who made that, all while claiming to venerate them and to be the champions of their memory. Everything about maga is just so fucking 180 of truth and reality that it absolutely does scare me beyond what I thought was possible in this country that I still love.

I'm pretty convinced that Watters is just playing a character and doesn't believe 90% of what he says.

He's like a villain in professional wrestling, saying whatever stupid things come to his brain to get cheap heat.

Unlike O'Reilly and Tucker before him, I don't think he's trying to be serious at all. in fact, I'd put him closer to a performance artist like Andy Kaufman than anything like an actual journalist.

While I do agree, doesn't provide any absolution (and know that is not your intent).

Frankly he is a platform for the most outrageous ideas, and gives them a semblance of legitimacy that otherwise would be lacking.

And given that his "character" is the most punchable of just about any person on the "msm", it would be very difficult for me to restrain myself from breaking his nose were i ever to encounter the douche

Well said. Agree with every word… except maybe the last little bit. I’m not sure I “still love” this country. I still love life, the planet earth… I still love the plants and the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees… especially those here in WNC… but as far as “loving” the good old U.S. of A.? Not so much.
Honestly. After living in 5 different States, traveling to several others… going to NYC, D.C., L.A., San Fran, Miami, New Orleans, Etc. etc. I truly believe I liked living in Europe better, and wouldn’t mind moving back there if it were feasible now.

Yeah, I agree with that. Even if he doesn't believe it, a whole lot of folks do and the results are disastrous.

And that is the difference between Watters and someone like Andy Kaufman. If folks believed Kaufman, they got upset at a wrestler or a comedian. If they believe Watters, they get upset at their fellow Americans.
 
"Fun" fact: Jesse Watters was a production assistant on The O'Reilly Factor for years before he got his own show after Billow got shitcanned. When Bill used to threaten someone that he would "send [my] people after you," Watters was the one who would go out on location with the camera crew.

Watters also holds the distinction of being the dumbest motherfucker on that network far and away, and that's quite a long list that includes failed stand-up comedian Greg Gutfeld and former MTV VJ Lisa Kennedy.

My dad, who died 5 years ago at 95, despised Trump. Saw him for the corrupt, petty, vindictive, con man grifter he is.
