I bet a lot of Republican Senators and Representatives hope Trump shuts up about this Schiff real estate thing. I recall controversies about JD Vance’s and Josh Hawley’s residency situations.

Let's not leave Tommy Tuberville off this list of peripatetic Republicans.

We are living through an Information War, and because the Dems are so bad at messaging, the MAGA cult is winning this war bigtime.
I see it as less of winning and losing and more of each side is playing by its own rules. GOP Rules: Continuously throw mud at the wall without regard for whether it is true or not, just to see what will stick. Truth is irrelevant, all that matters is whether the base will embrace it. Democratic Rules: Investigate issues, determine the truth therein, and only advocate for demonstrably true issues. Truth is the solid rock, all else are sinking sands. In regard to the reference to a Christian hymn, there are many ways to describe St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago, but based on his conduct displayed during the entirety of his adult life, St. Donald utterly and completely rejects all of the precepts of Christianity.

There was an article earlier this year detailing the frustration of younger Congressional Democrats as to just how out-of-touch and social media incompetent so many older Congressional Democrats are. There was one story in the article from a younger Democrat who said that several older (old) party members had actually asked them "What's a podcast?" and that they still believed that getting on the Sunday morning talk shows was a big deal. With attitudes like that it's no wonder that Democrats are losing the messaging wars.

The clamor needs to increase for release of the files, as repeatedly promised until they were received by the administration. MAGA should be ridiculed continuously. This is a cover-up on a scale that makes Watergate look like a high school play. If there is nothing to hide, just RELEASE THE DAMN FILES!

From ODNI:

  • In the months leading up to the November 2016 election, the Intelligence Community (IC) consistently assessed that Russia is “probably not trying … to influence the election by using cyber means.”
  • On December 7, 2016, after the election, talking points were prepared for DNI James Clapper stating, “Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the US Presidential election outcome.”

What am I missing here? The claim wasn't that Russia was trying to hack election infrastructure via cyber attacks. It was that they were trying to influence the election via social media and hacking of emails, right?

  • On December 9, 2016, President Obama’s White House gathered top National Security Council Principals for a meeting that included James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, John Kerry, Loretta Lynch, Andrew McCabe and others, to discuss Russia.
  • After the meeting, DNI Clapper’s Executive Assistant sent an email to IC leaders tasking them with creating a new IC assessment “per the President’s request” that details the “tools Moscow used and actions it took to influence the 2016 election.” It went on to say, “ODNI will lead this effort with participation from CIA, FBI, NSA, and DHS.”

Again, yes, Russia was trying to INFLUENCE the election by means that did not involve hacking or election infrastructure and literally changing votes.
[*]Obama officials leaked false statements to media outlets, including The Washington Post, claiming, “Russia has attempted through cyber means to interfere in, if not actively influence, the outcome of an election.”
They didn't only try, they DID interfere.
[*]On January 6, 2017, a new Intelligence Community Assessment was released that directly contradicted the IC assessments that were made throughout the previous six months.

The two sides are talking about completely different things.

Your post really drives home the point, but this is nothing new. Congressional Dems have been poor at messaging for many years.

Even savvy Dems like Obama were horrible at messaging.

I remember watching Obama at a press conference after saving the country from the Great Recession and putting us back on track for a sound economy.

Did he brag about his accomplishment ? No
Did he trash GWB for sinking the economy ? No

He made the mistake of saying we are doing better but people are still suffering and we need to do more to improve their lives.

Was the media takeaway from that press conference that Obama had rescued us from economic disaster and had put us on a track to restore a sound economy ( which he did ) ? No the media takeaway was Obama says he needs to do more to help American families.
