Curran joined the Secret Service in 2001 as a special agent in Newark, N.J. But in choosing a longtime agent with close ties to him, Trump eschewed one of the recommendations that emerged from the outside panel that examined the Secret Service: installing new leadership from outside the agency.

In a report issued last year, the independent review panel said, “the events of Butler suggest that there is an urgent need for fresh thinking informed by external experience and perspective.”

That report, along with others, highlighted widespread failures by the Secret Service related to the Butler rally, including poor communication and technical mishaps. A Senate report faulted the Secret Service for an unclear chain of command, technological issues and unheeded concerns about the American Glass Research building where the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired on Trump before being fatally shot by a Secret Service sniper.”

Not at all surprising, but I'd be so embarrassed if I supported an administration that caused my own party's most senior judges to say things like this.


Judge John Coughenour, a Ronald Reagan appointee who sits in Seattle, granted the request by Washington Attorney General Nick Brown and three other Democratic-led states for the emergency order halting implementation of the policy for the next 14 days while there are more briefings in the legal challenge.

“I have been on the bench for over four decades. I can’t remember another case whether the question presented was as clear,” Coughenour said.

These things always used to get the old zzl in a tizzy. Some anonymous redneck would put out some flyers or 10 guys in hoods would demonstrate in some small town with 500 counter protesters and its like we were one step away from The 1920s.

It's some hillbilly wanting to work up the vast, vast majority of Americans who would never dream of joining the Klan and I bet it works.
