Oh, great, yet another embittered and resentful Trumper wacko and nutcase who wants to use the federal government to gain revenge and destroy the lives of liberals because liberals won the culture wars and gave minority groups more rights. God forbid that gay people are allowed to marry and treated with decency and women are allowed to have careers outside the home and we now pay more attention in schools to some of the really bad moments in American history, like Japanese-American internment or the 1898 Wilmington Insurrection or 1921 Tulsa riots. And how dare liberals change the names of military bases and schools and places named after blatantly racist or Confederate leaders! Just more evidence of why liberals are right to be very worried and anxious about their safety and prospects under a second Trump administration. You can practically see the spittle flying from Flynn's mouth as he typed this rant.
If you read the comments section, he didn’t even write it. Just plagiarized it verbatim.

Among other issues, has anyone asked the Trump team yet:

1. How they plan to schedule and hold removal hearings for all these people, or if they don’t on what basis they plan to skip removal hearings (required as due process);

2. Where they plan to detain people pending removal hearings and/or deportation; and

3. Where they plan to find the manpower necessary to detain, hold, process, and manage the deportation of these people?
For the third point, I'm sure the GOP would have no trouble hiring plenty of prison guards/thugs to detain people from their base of embittered and resentful beta males who live online 24/7 and hate liberals because "career women" won't date them and they generally have better jobs. Being a prison or detention center guard would be a dream come true for many of these men. They could wear a uniform, carry a gun and nightstick or billy club, strut around and act tough and important, and rough up immigrants and anyone else that Trump 2.0 decides to incarcerate. And they could still spend most of their work time on social media posting selfies of how manly and macho they look now.

In Ukraine, I'm guessing Trump is going to go for some sort of negotiated peace where Ukraine loses a few provinces but not their whole country. He didn't pull out of Afghanistan because he didn't want to be the person that "lost" the war. I'm guessing he is not going to want to look weak on Ukraine either.

I pity the Palestinians. Most of Gaza will be occupied and the US won't say a peep as Israel gobbles up the West Bank with more settlements.

I don’t find myself in agreement with you often but I think you’re spot on here. I think all of the above that you’ve described is exactly what will happen. The Palestinians are absolutely FUBAR, so hope it was all totally worth it to those Arab voters in Michigan! I am hopeful that Ukraine doesn’t have to make any territorial concessions- hopefully the rest of NATO and the EU will take this opportunity to fill the global leadership void that the United States is about to voluntarily surrender and will let Ukraine take the gloves off. I could not have possibly disagreed more with the Biden administration policy on restraining Ukraine.

What am I missing. It seems like he issued a warning to Putin? I certainly don’t put any stock in anything out of Russian state media.

Additionally, I would be very worried if I were Iran.
You should be worried ABOUT Iran. They could easily be the jumping off point to a war that consumes the entire Middle East. How does $12 a gallon gas sound?

I'm very curious to see what happens on this issue. The way I see it there are three possible scenarios:

Scenario 1 Hard-Ass: Basically tries to deport everyone. To pay for it, they will slap a tax on remittances (which will in turn open up another revenue stream for the cartels...shipping money tax free). Local law enforcement in border stated is brought into the mix. Minimal due process. Maybe they carve out TPS recipients when they realize that Trump gave out some TPS exceptions. A mass deportation would have a significant impact on construction and agricultural sectors while exacerbating inflation.

Scenario 2 Build the Wall: Kind of like how they built a little bit of wall and pretended that they were close to building the whole thing. Once they see the cost of shipping out millions, they will decide on the dog and pony show. Say some 300k illegals are deported, but the Trump admin makes a big deal about those deportations (daily videos of flights leaving). Most will be illegals who have committed felonies.

Scenario 3 Invitation to leave: Come up with some major threat to induce illegals to self deport (a form of this has happened in the past). Strengthen e-certify to cover every US employer (no one ever talks about the US citizens hiring illegals). There will be some deportations mixed in as well.

All this fails to solve some structural problems with US immigration policy. The economy needs a healthy dose of unskilled labor that relies on migrant labor. It is basically impossible for an unskilled worker to navigate the process to migrate legally. Drastically reducing the number of illegals creates a labor shortage that needs to be resolved somehow (guest worker)...thing is I don't see the MAGAS ever being straight with their base.

Kristen Welker interviewed orangeturd He said deportations will begin with Murderers and rapists, Of course no one has any idea who these folks are-or they would have been arrested-yes even in "sanctuary cities'
So a bunch of ICE guys are going to be the brillant detectives that suddenly "find" all these murderers and rapists Because they can do a better job than NYC detectives .... you bet
4 yrs ago he said focus would be in criminals, but instead took the easy button and focused on separating families at the border.

IMO it is naive to think that we will have due process. We are about to have thousands of public service employees fired for not being sufficiently loyal. Congress will never remove POTUS from office and the courts have basically given the president immunity presumably even to ignore the courts themselves.

Once there are massive firings in the DOJ and DOD, none of it will matter anyway.

I just hope the generals play along and pretend to be loyal because we may need them in the future. We can’t have them all taking the high road and resigning or letting themselves get fired.

Putin knows how to play Trump. He’s going to spank him in public and then deny Trump an audience until he serves him up Ukraine and walks away from NATO.
You are literally trusting Russian propaganda in making that comment, yet one of your revered sources of information publishes a story where trump is being firm, direct, and strong with Putin and that is your take on the info nycfan has provided so far? Score. Trump 1. Putin 0

You do realize that the only source of information for what Trump and Putin have discussed is Trump himself, correct? He and his transition team have not agreed to participate in normal transition oversight because they do not want any insight into those discussions.

I’d turn that down if I were Elise. Power position in the House is more powerful and prestigious than UN ambassador.

I guess she sees it differently. Also, from the same article:

“…
It is unclear if Haley was angling for a position within the second Trump administration. But two people familiar with the deliberations told POLITICO that Pompeo, who campaigned for Trump, was making a concerted effort to be named to the position of defense secretary. Both were granted anonymity to discuss the sensitive deliberations.

The two people added that Pompeo’s bid to become the nation’s defense chief ran into heated opposition from close allies of the former president, including his son, Donald Trump Jr., and far-right commentator and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Trump’s post came a half hour after POLITICO asked the transition team to comment on a story being prepared about Pompeo’s bid being blocked by Trump Jr. and Carlson.

“There is a desire to not have people with presidential ambitions” use Trump cabinet posts as a launch pad, said one of the two people, a former senior Trump administration official. “He got burned by Mike previously, and by Haley, and his foreign policy views [MY READ - UKRAINE] are not aligned with the president.” …”

Agree. AND she obviously gives up her upstate NY seat with the likely GOP margin razor thin. I assume the Gov. is allowed to appoint a Dem to the seat and then a special election is held? The GOP challengers would then be running against an incumbent. I don’t think it’s worth the risk.

She, like Haley before her, likely wants the position to bolster her foreign policy experience in front of a 2028 Presidential run.

“… Homan touts hard-line immigration views and previously vowed to “run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen.”

He was an early supporter of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, which led to thousands of families being separated at the southern border. Trump eventually signed an executive order in 2018 reversing the family separation policy after public outcry.

In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired in October, Homan was asked whether there was a way to carry out mass deportations without separating families.

"Of course there is. Families can be deported together," he responded.

Will Trump's immigrant family separation policies make comeback?
