I get the Kristol quote and it’s delicious given how biased, unfair and now defamatory the legacy media has been against Trump and the Republicans.

This is surrender by ABC and Trump won. Everybody’s now headed to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring and make a donation. After Russia Russia Russia. Fine people on both sides, laptop disinformation and lawfare, this is a sight to behold.

A departed friend told me that maybe 25 years ago Rome went the route of "Lets make this a cute artsy town". It started to work-economic growth etc. then the "founding families" decided the new folks bringing growth were not bible thumping heterosexuals...So they shut it down

I had little doubt that many Trumpers would JCD everything he does, and here we are. A poster who literally is celebrating the "surrender" of the free press in this country to Trump. So much for Freedom of the Press and the Bill of Rights I suppose, but if it helps Dear Leader and makes him even more powerful then I'm all for it! Who needs those freedoms anyway? Certainly not the news media - they should all be like Fox News and OAN and Newsmax every single day!

Having said that, I do think that our "legacy" news media has let us all down big time, albeit not for the reasons Trumpers would like to think. And I also have no faith moving forward that the great majority of our news media is going to do anything but bend the knee at every opportunity.
 
I’m celebrating the surrender of the worthless, biased and bloated legacy media that is getting everything they deserve. They are the ones who have lost credibility with the American people due to their lies and biases. As a result their influence has been waning and waning over time. Trump just finished them off. The free press is a lot more than the antiquated legacy media. Plenty of free press out there to consume so we’re good.

You think it's a good thing that media has to kiss a ring? Do you seriously mean that? I hope youre just playing the part of being a douche for entertainment purposes.

Because media having to travel to any POTUS and "kiss the ring" is downright fucking dangerous.
 
You know, super has said for a long time Ramrouser isn’t actually a lawyer. I thought he was wrong. I figured that anyone dumb enough to practice law with an anti-American felon like Ray Smith would also be dumb enough to say the things he posts here. But I’m starting to think super was right after all. There are some really unintelligent lawyers. But I’m not sure I’ve seen any as pathologically idiotic, misinformed, and morally bankrupt as this guy. This really may just be a big ruse.
 
I've never read what he said closely enough to remember for sure but, judging from his posts that I have read, if he said he was a lawyer, that's pretty good evidence he's not.

One of the many stupid things Biden’s team did was to try to give the economy a nickname, “Bidenomics.”

As Reaganomics, George Costanza (wanted “T-bone,” got “Koko”), and Howard Wolowitz (wanted “Rocketman,” got “Fruit Loops”) attest, you don’t get to pick your nickname.

“Reaganomics” was not a compliment. In 1982, it was a harsh word, almost a cuss word. By the time of “Morning in America” in 1984, it was a positive and the Reagan Administration and campaign happily used it.

The Biden Team thought the economy had turned and improved and they tried to give it a name, “Bidenomics.” That worked as well as George Costanza and “T-Bone.”

ABC et al deserve the humiliation. There’s plenty of free media and press to hold the Trump Administration to account and that’s a GOOD thing. No one is advocating for an authoritative regime with a compliant state media. That’s just your bogeyman.

You seem to be advocating for precisely that. Celebrating media...any media...having to kiss a ring is ridiculous.

Trump does desire to be an authoritarian. Trump openly admires authoritarians around the globe. There's no denying that. Look who he denigrates and look who he lauds. This idea that anyone around Trump or any any level of our government is going to hold him to account is preposterous.

And that's no boogeyman. He is a man who has zero impulse control, is greedy, is craven, and is completely immune to shame about his actions. Acting as if he's someone who isnt a danger is just intellectually dishonest.

Plus, trump had to constantly tell his cult that the press was against him, when the press really gave him a pass.

They didn't spend nearly the amount of time they should have on his lies. Trumpsplaining and sanespaning actually became verbs due to the approach of never calling out any of his lies.
