I literally do laugh a people who get bent out of shape over taking trump seriously on stuff like greenland or the canal. I can't believe you elites don't understand he couldn't do it. He is trolling you and you fall for it every time. He snatches that football away and you guys keep running to kick it.They weren't thinking - they voted for him precisely because of shit like this. They see him as endlessly entertaining, are convinced that nothing bad will ever happen to them because of anything Trump does, and love that he upsets other people (thinking people - or as they call them, snobs) so much, especially liberals with college degrees. "Look at all those people getting red-faced over him threatening to just take Greenland or the Panama Canal! Ha ha! All those snooty liberals losing their minds over this. Oh, I'm loving this!" He's "blowing up the system", "turning over the applecart", "disrupting the status quo" or whatever the hell they want to call it.
The fact that he's also causing very real damage to our relationships with our allies and doing the bidding of people like Putin doesn't bother them in the least, or matter to them at all. He's fun, he's entertaining, he hates the people they hate and makes them mad, and so they love it and want it to continue. Until, that is, his bullshit and idiocy and antics gets us into a war or causes a (at minimum) severe recession or leads to lots of Americans getting killed here or abroad, or something he does starts to affect them personally. But even that won't change their minds - they'll just somehow still blame Democrats and liberals and their usual suspects rather than Dear Leader (or themselves for voting for him).
It's also what winners of elections say.“Failed in the eyes of the public,” is what one says when one knows the facts say otherwise.
I do think the dems failed at messaging on the economy for the last election.
Semaglutide would be a bigger pressure point.Great, no more Royal Dansk cookies for the holidays.
In other words, you know I’m right. It's also what winners of elections say.
Are those the buttery cookies that are kinda like a medium thin shortbread?Great, no more Royal Dansk cookies for the holidays.
William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer excelled at using yellow journalism in the 1890’s. They didn’t invent it; they did use it. The papers from Jefferson’s time could certainly be called yellow journalism.I still blame drunk ass Ted Turner 6/1/1980 for the end of media as a source of information and transitioning to 100% soap selling. Once media found scary news sells adds and combined that with fear mongering talking heads....here we are.
Read a book people.
He's literally talking like a New York mob boss from an old movie - "you don't play ball here, we're going to burn your shop down." The notion that this is going to force Denmark to give up Greenland - or even that if they did this is somehow an appropriate or long-term effective way for America to deal with other countries - is both ridiculous and frightening, or it ought to be for anyone with a brain and sense of ethics. How is pissing off Denmark and alienating them going to benefit us in the long run? Why do we really need Greenland - we've done just fine without it until now, why the sudden urgency? It's Putin-style blustering and bullying, and will almost certainly lead more to alienating and isolating us from our allies rather than helping us, which is likely the end goal here - of our enemies, not our friends, that is.
