And in the end it won't be destroyed. Money will go where it is by law supposed to go. And he will use the authority he has to reduce the size of the executive branch and the spending along with it.
I read a good suggestion yesterday.

He should reduce the staff for each representative by 50%. And reduce their budget by 50%.

cford posted a story that had a heading:

"The middle class is seeing slower income growth than both the rich and the poor"

and I asked:

Could this (poor) be due to the forced increases in minimum wage? I'd venture that none in the middle class work for minimum wage while many poor do.

Minimum wage in AZ has close to doubled, but those already above aren't getting comparable increases.

That's it. Clear as day, IMO.
None of that is remotely responsive to the questions I just posed, which has to do with what you meant by using the word "forced" to describe a minimum wage increase and why you then talked about the market setting a minimum wage in certain circumstances.

Related: Trump Org sues Brazilian judge claiming potential violation of First Amendment Rights because of ruling about Rumble — but goal appears to be to harass judge for election coup attempt case against Bolsonaro:

“President Trump’s media company and the video-sharing platform Rumble are suing a Brazilian Supreme Court justice, accusing him of illegally censoring political discourse on social media in the U.S.

The companies said Brazilian Justice Alexandre de Moraes’s gag orders to ban accounts violated U.S. sovereignty and its free-speech protections. They argued he overstepped his authority by suspending U.S. based accounts belonging to a “well-known politically outspoken user,” according to the lawsuit, but didn’t identify the user.

… Trump’s company and Rumble said the justice has targeted critics of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvaand supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has been accused of helping to plot a coup. De Moraes is overseeing investigations into Bolsonaro.“

File under we must reduce the deficit or we’ll go bankrupt. Also, government handouts caused inflation.

Yeah I'm not surprised that Trump would try to buy votes by sending voters a check but it's pretty funny to propose cutting waste to reduce the deficit then just eat up whatever deficit savings you supposedly make by immediately sending the money out.

I agree because you and Centerpiece apparently assumed I was anti-legislation to increase minimum wage. That belief apparently came from my use of the word "forced" even though state legislation literally forces an increase in minimum wage that wasn't occurring naturally.

I missed the fact that you were trying to turn a simple question to cford into an assumption and then a debate, so.....

On this one I’m going to have to take a Republican position. It’s very important for the government to send the $5k to me, but a terrible idea to send it to everyone else.

Actually its the opposite of my argument. Biden's use was terrible and enabled trump's abuse. So far, trump's use is as bad and likely to get worse. My comments, knowing the characters on this board, were to preemptively call out the hypocrisy that was sure to follow.
Biden's use of the pardon power was bad and I and others have disagreed with it but it did nothing to "enable" anything Trump is doing with the pardon power. Trump and his followers have zero concern for "norms" or logical consistency and he would have done the same thing regardless. What is "enabling" the abuse of the pardon power is way the Framers themselves set up that power, which is ripe for exactly this sort of abuse.

You missed the fact that on a message board other people besides cford might ask you questions about the things you said in your post?

I apologize. I did not realize you were brand new to message board posting.

There is no such thing as the minimum wage increasing "naturally." That is the clear source of the confusion here. The very idea of a "minimum wage" is a wage that no one can legally pay under.

The history of our new ambassador to France illustrates that saying Biden enabled this is total and complete bullshit. Calla is either totally naive and foolish or mendacious. Votes?

I responded to your question. You still assumed I was opposed to minimum wage legislation:

You: “Forced increases” in minimum wage? Isn’t any increase in minimum wage “forced” (by the government) by definition?

Me: The market could force an increase in minimum wage to hire people for certain jobs or in certain locations.

You: Also - as I’m sure you’re aware the federal minimum wage hasn’t increased in 15+ years.

Me: Right, but many states have and those changes would be reflected in federal government data.

"There is no such thing as the minimum wage increasing "naturally.""

Sure there is. Lots of businesses have to pay more than minimum wage to get workers.

Is this sarcasm? Because this definitely sounds like something Trump wants to do:

"he just took over the country, set himself up as a dictator (later Emperor), and proceeded to waste the lives of millions of Frenchmen by trying conquer pretty much all of Europe"

Maybe not Europe, but Trump definitely wants to conquer something.
Thankfully there's no chance of him living 20 years, but Russell Vought will. We need a leader who will respect separation of church and state, not one that appoints white Christian Nationalist.

This makes no sense at all. A business paying more than minimum wage is not a "natural" increase in the minimum wage. The minimum wage is a wage floor, not a mandated exact wage. Obviously the vast majority of workers make more than the minimum wage; that wouldn't be called an "increase" in the minimum wage.

I agree that there is a legal minimum wage. There's also a functional "minimum" wage that varies greatly between jobs and geographies.

I see no reason to debate that because, again, the ultimate point is that I was not taking a position against legally established minimum wage as you seemed to assume I was.
