I don’t find myself in agreement with you often but I think you’re spot on here. I think all of the above that you’ve described is exactly what will happen. The Palestinians are absolutely FUBAR, so hope it was all totally worth it to those Arab voters in Michigan! I am hopeful that Ukraine doesn’t have to make any territorial concessions- hopefully the rest of NATO and the EU will take this opportunity to fill the global leadership void that the United States is about to voluntarily surrender and will let Ukraine take the gloves off. I could not have possibly disagreed more with the Biden administration policy on restraining Ukraine.
I think it’s naive to believe 1) Putin only wanted a li’l piece of Ukraine or 2) that he gives a single shit what Trump would like for him to do. I mean, Trump has campaigned for months on ending aid to Ukraine and how he would end that conflict in 24 hours. He’s already revealed what matters to him personally and lost considerable leverage. What’s he going to do if Putin says “nah, fuck that, I’m taking it all”? Put US troops east of Kyiv? Give Ukraine 500 long range missiles and tell them to pound St Petersburg and Moscow? He’ll just fold and say he tried but Zelensky wouldn’t negotiate.

Lmao. Bless your heart. Vlad just posted pictures of Trump’s wife’s tits and snatch on Russian state television, and you think Trump is in any kind of position to dictate anything to him. Godalmighty, I truly thought you were more intelligent. It gives me no pleasure to be proven wrong on that front.

The only way this election has me rattled is that I have to watch bootlickers like you keep your kneepads polished up for the next four years so that you can defend the clearly indefensible. I was looking forward to putting that phase behind us all, but alas!

But no, to your other point, I have zero desire to be right and every desire to cheer for President Trump and the United States of America to be wildly successful over the next four years. I want to be as wrong as wrong can be. I want for you and every other Trump voter to be able to rub all of the success in my face and tell me I was wrong. I will gladly, graciously, and extraordinarily happily be wrong if it means that President Trump and the USA are thriving. Unlike you and many members of your political movement, I don’t only love my country when my preferred political party or preferred presidential candidate wins an election. So, yeah, I hope Trump truly does make America great- for all of us.

By the way, Roy, I am really intrigued about this bizarre fixation you apparently have on whether or not I am sufficiently upset about the results of the election. This is like the third or fourth time you’ve referenced it. It is clearly bothering you that I and many others on here aren’t really negatively emotionally impacted at all by this outcome. Why is that?
This is a bit off topic temporarily, but this is a great case-in-point example of what I’ve been saying. It is completely short-circuiting right wingers that the majority of us aren’t melting down or losing our shit or protesting or really doing anything other than, *shrug* “congrats on the win, hope you guys get what it was you voted for!” It is driving them crazy. So weird.

“… In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired in October, Homan was asked whether there was a way to carry out mass deportations without separating families.

"Of course there is. Families can be deported together," he responded.

Homan is a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative group. He was a contributor to Project 2025’s Mandate for Leadership book. …”

Sounds like a perfect guide for that portion of the Find Out tour.

Damn Ford, I give you more credit than wayne, but I’m thinking this election has you more rattled than you admit. That info was very positive for trump and the country. Careful not to let your desire to be right out weigh your desire for the country to prosper
Are you truly as naive as you sound? Or just stupid? Russia owns Trump, and MAGA wet dreams about Putin.

Lolol on Trump’s phone call with Putin, he asked him not to escalate in Ukraine. Putin responded by having his state media show naked photos of Trump’s wife, and the next day launches a massive attack on Ukraine.

Seriously, Republicans, do you actually not get tired of carrying this dude’s water and then having him shit on your face?

This is one of the biggest reasons why I can’t bring myself to be upset about the election. As annoying as Trump is, at least an entertaining side effect is to get to watch Republicans like calla be forced to further and further and further debase themselves to defend the dumber and dumber.

I’d turn that down if I were Elise. Power position in the House is more powerful and prestigious than UN ambassador.
Yes, but being in the House is utterly miserable. Especially since Elise has to wear an identity that she might very well loathe. UN ambassador gets her out of the spotlight and lets her drop the MAGA stylings periodically.

She didn't have to wear an identity. She chose to. No one makes that choice if they don't love power. I suppose she could be having regrets, but I highly, highly doubt it.

TBH, I'm not laughing because we may be on the verge of unraveling the rules-based order that has served the United States pretty well since the end of WWII.

It does seem that Putin is making sort of a public spectacle about who may or may not hold the cards in future negotiations with the Trump Administration, but let's face it, Putin is a dick who is feeling empowered to do whatever he wants, but at some point he needs the Ukraine conflict to at least pause for a while. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn around and embrace some peace plan and give lavish credit to Trump for whatever that is, both to curry favor with Trump and to set him up for blame for whatever happens down the road. Putin has his own agenda and I think Americans would be best served to assume it is always intended to be negative for us, not cheer him on if he scores a few points here or there versus our political opponents.

Absolutely. I'm just saying that maybe she wants a break from it.

Another consideration is that the Pubs are almost certainly going to lose the House in 2026, unless Trump pulls off some sort of miracle economic plan or they stop elections. I don't know if Elise is in any danger, but if you have a chance to be in the cabinet for four years or a narrow majority for two and a minority for two more, it's not clear to me which is superior.

And finally, MAGA mask or not, the GOP house is a miserable place to be. They can't even elect a speaker. They basically all hate each other.

Is UN Ambassador a cabinet position? I thought it was part of State. Even if it is cabinet level, it is not as though there are regular cabinet meetings at the white house, other than to genuflect to Dear Leader.

I think even with a slimmer majority, they may be less miserable for a while because the trouble-makers are MAGA absolutists who will all fall in line behind Trump, which makes the Speaker’s job a lot easier.

The cracks will eventually show, because they always do in politics, but Mike Johnson will get a honeymoon coattail ride from Trump’s governing honeymoon, I think.

Russia is going to roll over Ukraine now. He doesn't need a peace plan. He will be able to take basically what he wants.

The Ukrainians' morale is exceedingly low. They are having manpower shortages. Now that US assistance is gone, will NATO actually take up the slack? I doubt it. NATO does not want to give Trump any excuse at all for pulling out. The Europeans want to keep NATO hobbling along until Trump is gone.

It would not surprise me if Putin attacks Poland or maybe a Baltic state just to give Trump the opportunity to pull out of NATO. And the West knows that, which is why I expect them not to force a confrontation in Ukraine. Appeasement is a shitty plan in the long-term but it might be the best plan to tide them over until 2028.

So he intends to deport citizens as well
