Does Trump get to call it a win and MAGA and the GOP agree?Sheinbaum literally entertained Trump with a bit of military theater. I’m really struggling to see how it can be justified as a win for him.
In their world, that’s a win. A YUGE WIN!

Then why are you posting now?No reason to comment on all that is going on in Trump world until things have time to play out.
Sweet Jesus. You’re such a mark.We don’t know that. It appears Trump got additional concessions like the joint strike force and Canada agreeing to declare the cartel as a terrorist organization. Also, there will be additional negotiations over the next 30 days while the pause is in effect.
uWow, agreeing to declare a terrorist organization a terrorist organization.
What amazing results. Well worth all of the market fluctuation, diminished relationship with our closest allies, and new opportunities given to China to fill the international trade vacuum that was created by our fickle leader proving the U.S. couldn't be trusted to have our allies' backs.
Gullible cucks, each and every one of yo
Crisis well on its way for a successful resolution in US’s favor. Thus, time to comment. Waiting to see how DOGE and the other policies play out.Then why are you posting now?
It’s silly to think anything meaningful or enforceable was agreed to today. Remember when Trump pulled out a single sheet of paper from his coat pocket and said it was his health care plan that he was about to release? I doubt this will end up being appreciably different.
Because declaring the cartel a terrorist organization accomplishes NOTHING. It's of dubious legality, and it's pointless. It will be a litigation magnet and cost us money in lawyers' fees for no reason.u
If it was such a no brainer why didn’t the last administration declare the cartel a terrorist organization as all hell was breaking out on the border with human trafficking and fentanyl? No, Biden was more interested in REMOVING the Houthi Rebels from having that designation - and that sure worked out well.
1. The crisis was started by Trump;Crisis well on its way for a successful resolution in US’s favor. Thus, time to comment. Waiting to see how DOGE and the other policies play out.
Trump is all theater. He accomplishes nothing except to destroy the credibility of the United States.Because declaring the cartel a terrorist organization accomplishes NOTHING. It's of dubious legality, and it's pointless. It will be a litigation magnet and cost us money in lawyers' fees for no reason.
The terrorist designation means that people can't send money to the cartels. People already can't send money to the cartels under the Drug Enforcement Act, various anti-money laundering statutes, and federal reserve regulations.
I don't think in Canada there are *any* consequences to being declared a terrorist organization. I don't think Canada has any special laws that would apply. About that, I could be wrong as I'm no expert in Canadian law. But it is 100% true that the cartels are exactly as safe and cushy today as they were last week.
And let’s not forget he is causing high interest rates, and our business partners are probably making plans to find new markets, like they did with the tariffs from his first go ‘round.Let's not forget, the Dow dropped over 600 points this morning. If tariffs went into effect and stayed in effect, I strongly believe the stock market response would have gotten much worse.
I, for one, am not in favor of playing russian roulette with the economy for dubious results.
Colombia and Venezuela also caved to Trump’s will. He even got six detainees released.1. The crisis was started by Trump;
2. Trump convinced Mexico to ***REDUCE*** their troop level at the border;
3. Absolutely nothing was done about fentanyl;
4. Americans fear for their jobs and people lost a lot of money in the trading dip this morning (though I don't feel badly for day traders)
5. Trump has shown the world how easily he can be rolled;
6. Business investment in America will suffer because of Trump's unpredictability and stupidity
WINNING!1!!1! The whole world is literally laughing at America.
Oh, and Canada agreed to create a fictitious position in their government. YAY!!
You must think Trump is playing three-dimensional chess. I have a sneaking suspicion, based on Trump's many, many failed business ventures, is that the guy is dumber than a bag of hammers.Colombia and Venezuela also caved to Trump’s will. He even got six detainees released.
Trump’s admittedly coming out hot on the tariff issue. Things will calm down by June once he has all “the good trade deals” in place.
No, I politely requested a change in a single post and responded to one of your several follow-ups because I thought your post misrepresented your original exchange.Me derail it? I posted four words. You chastised me twice.
LOL. Great analogyAnyone remember when Homer Simpson got promoted to safety inspector and accidents decreased dramatically?
Mr. Burns took that as a sign that Homer must be a fantastic inspector.
Withers pointed out that accidents decreased by the same amount that Homer caused in his prior position.
Not sure what made me think of that.
You're funny. What did Trump get for Colombia "caving"? Literally nothing.Colombia and Venezuela also caved to Trump’s will. He even got six detainees released.
Trump’s admittedly coming out hot on the tariff issue. Things will calm down by June once he has all “the good trade deals” in place.
Honestly I can't help but think of the wallet inspector...Anyone remember when Homer Simpson got promoted to safety inspector and accidents decreased dramatically?
Mr. Burns took that as a sign that Homer must be a fantastic inspector.
Withers pointed out that accidents decreased by the same amount that Homer caused in his prior position.
Not sure what made me think of that.
Okay, back to Trump saving us from disaster.
