“The US government will end the temporary protected status (TPS) for 500,000 Haitians living in the country in August, the Department of Homeland Security said on Thursday.

This comes despite deteriorating conditions in the Caribbean country, with gangs controlling about 85% of the capital and sexual violence against children increasing by 1,000% last year, according to the United Nations.

TPS is granted to nationals of designated countries facing unsafe conditions, such as armed conflict or environmental disasters. …”

So, let's just say, just for the hell of it, that not a single federal employee responds to Musk's email. Does that mean they'll fire all federal employees and we'll be left without a functioning government?

That does seem to be the end goal. Just gut the government like Elon did to Twitter and force the few remaining employees to work like dogs trying to do the work that originally was done by three or four times as many people. And it won't work, because the federal government isn't like Twitter (or any corporation, really), but they seem hellbent on trying.
