Among other issues, has anyone asked the Trump team yet:

1. How they plan to schedule and hold removal hearings for all these people, or if they don’t on what basis they plan to skip removal hearings (required as due process);

2. Where they plan to detain people pending removal hearings and/or deportation; and

3. Where they plan to find the manpower necessary to detain, hold, process, and manage the deportation of these people?
IMO it is naive to think that we will have due process. We are about to have thousands of public service employees fired for not being sufficiently loyal. Congress will never remove POTUS from office and the courts have basically given the president immunity presumably even to ignore the courts themselves.

Once there are massive firings in the DOJ and DOD, none of it will matter anyway.

I just hope the generals play along and pretend to be loyal because we may need them in the future. We can’t have them all taking the high road and resigning or letting themselves get fired.

Putin knows how to play Trump. He’s going to spank him in public and then deny Trump an audience until he serves him up Ukraine and walks away from NATO.
You are literally trusting Russian propaganda in making that comment, yet one of your revered sources of information publishes a story where trump is being firm, direct, and strong with Putin and that is your take on the info nycfan has provided so far? Score. Trump 1. Putin 0

You do realize that the only source of information for what Trump and Putin have discussed is Trump himself, correct? He and his transition team have not agreed to participate in normal transition oversight because they do not want any insight into those discussions.

I’d turn that down if I were Elise. Power position in the House is more powerful and prestigious than UN ambassador.

I guess she sees it differently. Also, from the same article:

“…
It is unclear if Haley was angling for a position within the second Trump administration. But two people familiar with the deliberations told POLITICO that Pompeo, who campaigned for Trump, was making a concerted effort to be named to the position of defense secretary. Both were granted anonymity to discuss the sensitive deliberations.

The two people added that Pompeo’s bid to become the nation’s defense chief ran into heated opposition from close allies of the former president, including his son, Donald Trump Jr., and far-right commentator and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Trump’s post came a half hour after POLITICO asked the transition team to comment on a story being prepared about Pompeo’s bid being blocked by Trump Jr. and Carlson.

“There is a desire to not have people with presidential ambitions” use Trump cabinet posts as a launch pad, said one of the two people, a former senior Trump administration official. “He got burned by Mike previously, and by Haley, and his foreign policy views [MY READ - UKRAINE] are not aligned with the president.” …”

Agree. AND she obviously gives up her upstate NY seat with the likely GOP margin razor thin. I assume the Gov. is allowed to appoint a Dem to the seat and then a special election is held? The GOP challengers would then be running against an incumbent. I don’t think it’s worth the risk.

She, like Haley before her, likely wants the position to bolster her foreign policy experience in front of a 2028 Presidential run.

“… Homan touts hard-line immigration views and previously vowed to “run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen.”

He was an early supporter of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, which led to thousands of families being separated at the southern border. Trump eventually signed an executive order in 2018 reversing the family separation policy after public outcry.

In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired in October, Homan was asked whether there was a way to carry out mass deportations without separating families.

"Of course there is. Families can be deported together," he responded.

Will Trump's immigrant family separation policies make comeback?
Homan is a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative group. He was a contributor to Project 2025’s Mandate for Leadership book. …”

Does Tom Homan realize that blue states have National Guard and that National Guard have guns, if necessary?

Lmfao but but but he’s SOOOOOO BIGLY TOUGH on Russia!!!!

You goddamn fools, you got played like a fiddle.
Damn Ford, I give you more credit than wayne, but I’m thinking this election has you more rattled than you admit. That info was very positive for trump and the country. Careful not to let your desire to be right out weigh your desire for the country to prosper

Certainly the wapo vetted it right? You do trust the wapo don’t you.

You should be worried ABOUT Iran. They could easily be the jumping off point to a war that consumes the entire Middle East. How does $12 a gallon gas sound?
They made huge strides to a bomb under the Biden administration so they do have to be not taken lightly.

Jerome Powell apparently intends to fight for his job.

If Trump Tries to Fire Powell, Fed Chair Is Ready for a Legal Fight

Jerome Powell was prepared to go to court when the president floated his dismissal six years ago. If it happens again, the Fed chair might have to pay the legal tab himself.

“… Six years later, Trump is heading back to the White House and the dormant drama of his fraught relationship with Powell is back on display.

When asked last week whether he would resign if asked to do so, Powell offered a one-word reply: “No.”

He gave the same answer when asked if the president had the authority to dismiss him.

… Powell, a former private-equity executive who has a law degree, was later pressed to explain his rationale. He delivered another curt response: “Not permitted under the law.”

His unflinching rejoinders laid bare the prospect that any attempt to force Powell to leave before his term ends in 2026 would likely be resolved in an unprecedented legal battle—the same one Fed leaders had prepared for years ago.

“If the president were to succeed at this, that would mean every future chair is subject to removal at the whim of the president,” said Scott Alvarez, who served as the Fed’s general counsel from 2004 to 2017.

“I don’t think that’s a precedent Jay would want to set, and that’s why I think he would fight it. This is a humongous precedent.” …

Lmao. Bless your heart. Vlad just posted pictures of Trump’s wife’s tits and snatch on Russian state television, and you think Trump is in any kind of position to dictate anything to him. Godalmighty, I truly thought you were more intelligent. It gives me no pleasure to be proven wrong on that front.

The only way this election has me rattled is that I have to watch bootlickers like you keep your kneepads polished up for the next four years so that you can defend the clearly indefensible. I was looking forward to putting that phase behind us all, but alas!

But no, to your other point, I have zero desire to be right and every desire to cheer for President Trump and the United States of America to be wildly successful over the next four years. I want to be as wrong as wrong can be. I want for you and every other Trump voter to be able to rub all of the success in my face and tell me I was wrong. I will gladly, graciously, and extraordinarily happily be wrong if it means that President Trump and the USA are thriving. Unlike you and many members of your political movement, I don’t only love my country when my preferred political party or preferred presidential candidate wins an election. So, yeah, I hope Trump truly does make America great- for all of us.

By the way, Roy, I am really intrigued about this bizarre fixation you apparently have on whether or not I am sufficiently upset about the results of the election. This is like the third or fourth time you’ve referenced it. It is clearly bothering you that I and many others on here aren’t really negatively emotionally impacted at all by this outcome. Why is that?

Biden had 1.5 million plus deportations and 3 million plus expulsions. 300k would be a drop in the bucket compared to Biden.
Im talking about the first day. But in the low scenario he'd be north of the Biden number, but not by a huge amount.

Yes. He wants to force the decision. Either democrats back down and look weak, or they fight back and it gets spun as anti-American. Fascism craves bloodshed.

Those of you hoping for administrative incompetence, and yes there will be plenty of it, are still not seeing the bigger picture. The rhetoric is already there, and got voted into office. All that is left is the logistics.
