You know, super has said for a long time Ramrouser isn’t actually a lawyer. I thought he was wrong. I figured that anyone dumb enough to practice law with an anti-American felon like Ray Smith would also be dumb enough to say the things he posts here. But I’m starting to think super was right after all. There are some really unintelligent lawyers. But I’m not sure I’ve seen any as pathologically idiotic, misinformed, and morally bankrupt as this guy. This really may just be a big ruse.
You think it's a good thing that media has to kiss a ring? Do you seriously mean that? I hope youre just playing the part of being a douche for entertainment purposes.

Because media having to travel to any POTUS and "kiss the ring" is downright fucking dangerous.
ABC et al deserve the humiliation. There’s plenty of free media and press to hold the Trump Administration to account and that’s a GOOD thing. No one is advocating for an authoritative regime with a compliant state media. That’s just your bogeyman.

You seem to be advocating for precisely that. Celebrating media...any media...having to kiss a ring is ridiculous.

Trump does desire to be an authoritarian. Trump openly admires authoritarians around the globe. There's no denying that. Look who he denigrates and look who he lauds. This idea that anyone around Trump or any any level of our government is going to hold him to account is preposterous.

And that's no boogeyman. He is a man who has zero impulse control, is greedy, is craven, and is completely immune to shame about his actions. Acting as if he's someone who isnt a danger is just intellectually dishonest.

I’m celebrating the surrender of the worthless, biased and bloated legacy media that is getting everything they deserve. They are the ones who have lost credibility with the American people due to their lies and biases. As a result their influence has been waning and waning over time. Trump just finished them off. The free press is a lot more than the antiquated legacy media. Plenty of free press out there to consume so we’re good.
"Free Press" with no standards doesn't help anyone.

Plus, trump had to constantly tell his cult that the press was against him, when the press really gave him a pass.

They didn't spend nearly the amount of time they should have on his lies. Trumpsplaining and sanespaning actually became verbs due to the approach of never calling out any of his lies.

You mean right-wing media to consume, right? Because that's what we're really heading for here - a nation of nothing but Fox News, Newsmax-style news programming.

You are advocating for it, whether you admit it or not. And what "free media" is going to hold Trump to account? Fox News and other right-wing sites that kiss his ass on a daily basis? Legacy media like The Washington Post and LA Times that were too scared to even endorse his opponent and so chickened out and endorsed no one? The New York Times whose bosiding is so ridiculous that there is a popular parody social media site making fun of it? Elon Musk has offered to buy MSNBC and turn it into a Trump-loving news station, and I bet you'd love that. So tell us, what "free media" is going to hold Trump 2.0 to account?

Biden's team did a terrible job of shaping the narrative of his achievements.
I agree with this, but that's been true of Democrats for at least the last decade or so, even before Trump. And while it's definitely true that there is now a media double standard for Trump and his Democratic opponents, Democrats haven't done themselves any favors. If they invented a cure for cancer, they would somehow screw up the PR campaign so that they would have difficulty convincing many people to use it. The disconnect between the great popularity of most Democratic positions on abortion, gun control, promoting diversity (even "wokeism"), gay rights, and the relative unpopularity of so many Democratic pols is definitely worrisome.

The press had such a double standard of coverage that they had a really tough job getting any coverage from the media.
On the outside, felt like they were shielding Biden from the media too much and none of the surrogates were effective at filling in on that particular message.

Joe Rogan?

So your argument is that 75-million plus people voted against Kamala Harris because they honestly believed that taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries are a serious issue and that "woke" policies (and let's be honest here, you're really talking about the Democrat's support of LGBTQ people) are killing Democrats at the polls. Have you seen that 2022 survey of Americans which showed that they vastly exaggerated the percentages of gay and lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in our society (and blacks and atheists, for that matter)? I would be willing to be that those who do vastly exaggerate the numbers of these people are mostly Trumpers, and they are totally and utterly wrong in their assumptions. So what would you call these people (and yes, that includes any Democrats who believe that blacks are 30% of the population instead of about 12 to 13%)? Some nice words that might be used are poorly-informed, unrealistic, or mistaken. Some harsher and more accurate terms are gullible, ignorant, easily-conned, and yes, rubes. And nowhere did I say that all Trumpers are uneducated (they don't have a college degree, they're not "uneducated") or hyper religious, although a majority of them likely are Evangelical "hyper religious".
No. There were lots of reasons people voted for Trump/against Kamala. The polling reflects some of the big ones, including cultural topics like transgenderism /gender dysphoria. I'm sure the fact that Kamala never disavowed her previous beliefs about taxpayer funded sex change surgeries for incarcerated illegal immigrants, played a roll.

I don't know your specific views on Trumpers and never said you lump them all into one ignorant and uninformed group, but it seems like many people do. Those are many of the same people who view Hillary's and Kamala's losses as the result of the ignorance, racism, etc of Trump voters and having nothing to do with the problematic perception of the Democratic party. As another liberal poster (accurately) put it, Democratic leadership "is captive to an educated consultant class and nonprofit identity-focused issue world."

Like I mentioned earlier, I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm fine voting 3rd party while I wait for one of the two major parties to get things figured out and hopefully nominate a quality candidate, but many Dems are highly concerned about MAGA and recent success of Republicans, yet they seem unwilling to look within their own party to find a reason.

So it’s the premise here that the press and media haven’t criticized Trump enough? ok…..i’m watching MSNBC and it continues to be non stop Trump hate and “end-of-the-world” predictions.

The legacy media scares your side until you’re curled up in the corner sucking your thumb.

I strongly suspect that the "problematic perception" of the Democratic Party that you're referring to is that they support the rights of LGBTQ people, and given that many Americans vastly exaggerate the percentages of such people in our population Trumpers are convinced that Democrats won't stop until every schoolchild is undergoing secret taxpayer-funded gender affirming surgery. Which is nuts, of course, and is a lie fed by right-wing media.

What I think people like you fail to see is that many Republicans - including many in Congress and state governments and some on the Supreme Court - would love to use transphobia as a wedge issue to go after the entire LGBTQ community, including rolling back gay marriage rights and gay rights generally. And I'll say it again, anyone who voted against Kamala because of "taxpayer funded sex change surgeries" is a gullible and myopic voter. Given all of the vast number of problems in our society, to be worried about such an insignificant thing is more revealing of the person voting based on such trivialities than it shows about the Democrats or Kamala, imo.

MSNBC isn't what I would consider to be legacy media, though I have admittedly watched a grand total of about 4 hours of it in its entire existence (about the same for Fox News).

So it’s your premise that you can sit in judgment of “legacy media” while not actually viewing any content from legacy media sources like WaPo, NYT, CNN, NPR, CBS, NBC, ABC.

Cool.

That's interesting, your take on fear.

Considering the fear that trump sold.
You know the fear of everyone crossing the boarder being murders and rapist. The fear of them taking your jobs. The fear of a child being born here receiving citizenship. The fear of change in the auto markets. The fear of socialism and Marxism. The fear of who might be in the bathroom with you. The fear of someone taking your precious guns. The fear of non-christian religions in a country with religious freedom.

The issues the left have with trump don't come from the media, they come from, Mr dictator for a day, trump. The man who could have stopped Jan 6th before it started, but didn't because he wanted it. The man that loves to suck up to dictators. The man that makes statements about shooting press members. One doesn’t have to watch the news, one can simply watch the rallies.

It isn't. It's mostly opinions, just like fox.

It seems to be a challenge to keep people interested in 24/7 news.
