He said/she said stories are always tough to know exactly what the truth is.
But I read accounts of the police report and one thing in there rang true for me.
When a hotel worker asked Hegseth to lower his voice at 1:30am, an inebriated Hegseth replied, “I have freedom of speech!”
That definitely happened.

Face it, the Pentagon basically runs itself with its immense bureaucracy. Pete can change things on the edges but the Pentagon will keep on chugging along.
Then why the consternation about Biden being senile? I mean, the US government can basically run itself with its immense bureaucracy. But I thought that's what Trump & Co. are hellbent on getting rid of? Drain the swamp and all that.

Ramrouser: We have an immense bureaucracy that can keep things chugging along, even in the face of an incompetent leader

Maga: Let's get rid of it!!

Ramrouser: Sounds good to me, you've got my vote!

Abramson is an out there guy himself.

No excuses: gamers think they caught Musk cheating on Path of Exile 2

“… Simply put, the gamers allege – there’s a great Reddit thread – that Musk has paid other players to play PoE2 as Elon so he could look like a good gamer.

In gaming, it’s virtually an unforgivable sin for someone to essentially outsource the development of a character in order to then swoop in and claim glory when the hardest work was already done.

There’s no smoking gun, to be fair. But there’s precedent: in 2022, Musk shared a “power mage” character from Elden Ring, another fantasy RPG, but the build was immediately laughed at as the work of a complete novice. …

Last year, Musk also claimed he was ranked among the top 20 players worldwide of the video game Diablo IV. It soon turned out it wasn’t true. …”

This world is so strange. I am pretty sure I got off the elevator in the wrong universe somewhere along the way.

“There are safety nets to keep a clearly unqualified person in charge from fucking everything up,” is not a good reason to put that person in charge.

Ask yourself this: of the people close enough to the president, and all of the unqualified people below him, who are going to be the adults in the room who keeps them from, well, “fucking everything up?”

Because I honestly couldn’t tell you.

After Pete’s calm, collected and passionate testimony today he will be confirmed as our next Secretary of Defense. He was a great lead off batter for the Trump administration. Senator Ernst just announced she would be voting for Pete.

Disagree he’s unqualified for the job. It’s not like Pete will not be without a team to run the Department. He’s there as a change agent to instill a new culture in the Pentagon.

Next batter up....
Every poster here, including yourself, knows this bullshit.

I suspect we're going to see the first 3 differently.

"Documented alcoholism" I assume is based on accusations of former Fox employee, many more employees have disputed the claim.

"Sexual assault" is an accusation for which there was no legal action ever taken.

"Misogyny" is probably a reference to his views on women in the military. It's a stretch to say that not lowering established physical requirements is "misogyny"

I'm not sure what the Christian Nationalism is a reference to.
Read this and ask yourself why you EVER interact with this poster.

Shit, just put anyone in charge.

I mean, that’s kinda the GOP mantra at this point.
The GOP mantra is for government to FAIL.

Put incompetent people in charge of Executive Branch, fire the career experts…….when the shit hits the

Musk, Thiel, Bezos, Zuckerberg, and the rest of the Tech Bros WANT the US Government to fail.

I've heard that Don Jr and Eric like to shoot guns. Doesn't get more qualified or patriotic than that for a top brass job in the military.

No, no, no. You misunderstand them. They are simply installing "Agents of change." To, you know... break...errr...change stuff...forever.

Trump team sets red line on Hegseth's FBI background check

“…
  • A member of the Trump transition sat in on the FBI background briefing on Hegseth's file, a source familiar told Axios. The senators weren't given a copy of the file. They also weren't allowed to take notes or pictures.

Wicker privately raised the idea of letting his full committee see Hegseth's file, but Trump officials are opposed to sharing it, according to a person familiar with the matter.

  • The Trump team wants to hold the line on having a consistent standard for all nominees.
  • Look for them to fight any effort to release Hegseth's file, even if Wicker says there's not much of interest. …”
Hegseth can answer basic questions that the person in this position should be able to. He shouldn't be confirmed.

This might be your worst post ever.
