I agree all of this is farfetched, but it's the first time I've seen a potential scenario that could actually result in something resembling a civil "war." I don't think that's realistically possible between the government and ordinary Americans, but a clash between a state's national guard and that of an "invading" state, or between a state's national guard and ICE, is not outside the realm of possibility.
