He is simply crazy, plain and simple. People can analyze and parse his words all they want, but it really boils down to the fact that he doesn't live in reality anymore (if he ever really did). In his first term he had at least a few people around him who did have a foot in reality and who were willing to stand up to him and say no. In his second term he's succeeded in completely surrounding himself with Hegseth-type bootlickers who will do anything he asks them to do, no question. And they isolate him from reality and tell him only what he wants to hear, which is how he has done things nearly all of his adult life. We're in a very, very dangerous place as a nation right now, with a deranged lunatic leading the government and with his finger on the nuclear button and he and his lackeys (Hegseth) in charge of the world's most powerful military.

It would be Gaddafi like if not for a media and institutional system that hasn’t been completely co-opted. He has similar psychopathology I suspect.

My thought as well. We need to take money out to pay off my wife's student loans for her doctoral program. I'm trying to figure out if I should make the move mid-day today or wait and see.
