“In other words, to make you feel a little guilty, we would only have you to blame”

What other words are you dying to say but feel barely constrained? May as well get it out of your system …

Alright. I guess he is going to talk all night. I’ll have to catch up with the rest tomorrow.

Wrapping his campaign by calling Harris "a bad word that starts with a B, but I wont say it" is clearly a choice, with women voting big time.

When this dark era of misinformation and alternative facts finally subsides, I believe that reality and truth will be what ultimately makes it into history books decades from now. Imagine having to explain to your kids or grandkids why you voted for the greatest threat to American democracy in the history of our country. Imagine having to tell them that you fell into a cult and were too dumb to realize it until it was too late. Imagine having to explain why you voted for a man who knowingly cultivated a societal movement rooted in hatred, lying, cheating and fear mongering, and who was the direct antithesis of the morals and family values we try to instill upon our children. And yet you willingly yanked the lever for this shitstain on the fabric of our nation.

I wouldn't want to have that conversation with my child or grandchild in a million years. But hey, you do you, maga nation.

Whole bunch of dads who are going to have to explain to their daughters why they voted for a guy who bragged about grabbing them by the pussy and who also made it possible for the government to do the exact same thing in the privacy of the medical exam room.

Their hate and fear for anything different than straight white Christians trumps everything else. They are so scared of losing their position in society and anything outside of the bubble they want their world to be.

I get your point, but in reality, those dads will a) never explain that to their daughters; b) never think such an explanation is remotely warranted; and c) will never confront the issue if raised by said daughters and will deflect until their dying grave.

I was a professor back when Wayne LaPierre, in front of thousands of NRA goobers, declared academics to be enemies of the people. I asked my dad if he thought that was an appropriate sentiment. He said, "most of you are."

I'm not sure why you think it will go like that at all.

First, you're assuming that "good" triumphs and we don't end up in a timeline where historians tell how Trump and the great US patriots saved the country from the horrors of communism and fascism promoted by Democrats in the 2010s and 2020s.

Second, even assuming that occurs, I'm not sure why you think that these folks are going to agree with "reality" and "truth" and "history books". We still can't come to a widely-accepted consensus about the causes of the US Civil War and that was 160 years ago. Far, far too many folks still adhere to the Lost Cause mythology of the Civil War that the South was standing up for states' rights against the tyranny of the North and the Federal Government. (Of course, the Venn diagram between Lost Cause believers and MAGA likely has significant overlap.) It's far more likely that in deeply red parts of the US, the "common sense story" of MAGA will be that they were standing up against the tyranny of Dems and an overreaching Federal Government no matter what schools and history books may teach. It's more likely that even if Trumpism is defeated, that MAGA will continue to be proud of their beliefs and will tell an alternative story that places them on the right side of history but simply defeated by the forces of evil.

You suppose those dads don’t want that.
