I know you know this and it's been said a billion times, but the ONLY reason calla and his MAGA brethren have turned Hillary and Obama into such bogeymen is to try to create an absurdly false moral equivalence with the guy they've been supporting for the last 10+ years. They know he can't be defended on conventional terms, so they have to try to make it relative.

The reality is that Hillary and Obama are far from perfect, but they're ordinary. The only anomaly is Trump, and it's comparable to the anomaly between a mountain and a mole hill.

If any of that were true, it would matter, but (1) prior investigations already determined to the contrary, and (2) no one in the Trump admin has offered anything but "bluster" to suggest differently. They can release whatever they want - no one on the left is scared of that. But the strong likelihood is that like Trump is simply lying about this the same way he lies about everything else.

Tell you what, calla. I'll withhold judgment on the Obama allegations until the evidence is presented. Tulsi and Pam say they have an irrefutable case, so what's the over-under on when we see the evidence? A month? Six? Three and a half years? I'll take the over no matter where you set it, and if it really is an irrefutable case of treasonous activity, I will apologize to you in a separate, stand-alone thread on this board, which I will ask Rock to pin to the top for a week. But if I win, you do the same. Deal?

I know it feels high-minded to withhold judgment, but you're lending credence to currently-unsupported ACCUSATIONS OF TREASON AGAINST AN EX-PRESIDENT. You're carrying their water, and they'll have you carry it as long as they can. They don't need you to believe them. Declining to disbelieve is plenty. It's a heavy fucking charge, and it should be met with extreme skepticism unless and until the administration proves its case.

Calla appears to have lost whatever moral bearings he once had. Sad case. I continue to think he's a reasonably intelligent person, but he appears to be one of the very few people with an average IQ who can't see through what Trump and the Pubs are doing right now.
