His assertation, with no supporting evidence is absolutely NOT good enough for me. Nor should it be for you. Someone's going to say the statistics are wrong...prove it. Why wouldn't you want support of such a claim? Why don't you need it?

A lawsuit filed against the MPD by Sergeant Charlotte Djossou, alleging that superiors intentionally misclassified offenses to manipulate crime statistics, has been settled by the District of Columbia.

Djossou's lawsuit, filed in 2020, accused MPD leadership of pressuring officers to downgrade felonies, like theft and assault, to less serious classifications, according to the New York Sun. This was allegedly done to create a false impression of declining crimes rates in DC. The lawsuit included internal MPD emails, depositions, and phone call transcripts that reportedly showed officers were repeatedly instructed to downgrade offenses.

The settlement was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

Sow boy likely charged with a felony to send a message to the loonies who are screaming "f**cking fascists" at the police/guard to keep their hands off of them.
Brother, take this as some friendly advice. Given that you have inexplicably told us exactly who you are on multiple occasions, and given that there are pictures of you on the Internet so that anyone who chooses to do so can see what you look like, you are probably the last person who should be calling anyone else a “soy boy” based off of appearances.

Pun alert:

A true gyro. Giving up dinner and his job for democracy.

Also, and I sincerely don’t know why, but every time I read his confession (“I did it, I threw a sandwich”) I giggle like Heidi Gardner in the SNL Beavis and Butthead skit.

If only we had more gyros who would stand up to protect our democracy...

Heidi is my favorite on SNL...I haven't shared this with the missus, but if Heidi asked me to run away with her and live together forever in romantic bliss, I would say I'm there dude

Sure would.

But how would this grow support for Republicans within the black community if this actual policing of crime is not taking place in black communities, but is instead taking place for show in places like Georgetown and around the national mall? How does this improve the crime rate in places like Anacostia? It’s not reducing poverty or providing resources and opportunity, which are among the absolute very best and demonstrably proven ways to reduce crime.

To me, if Republicans want to improve support from the black community, they should do exactly what the mayor of Baltimore has done to completely turn that city around. But what he has done isn’t to sic police officers on them to beat the hell out of them or to detain them and put them in jail. What he’s done is taking steps to reduce poverty by providing opportunity. If you want to improve Republican support in the black community, I think that would be a great way to start: by actually going into the black communities and instead of turning the police loose on them, provide them with food, provide them with education, provide them with meaningful outlets, provide them with alternatives to stealing and violence.

The problem is, that takes a heck of a lot more hard work and thankless work and it doesn’t really play well on Fox News or on social media because it’s monotonous, tedious, painstaking, boring work. But it’s effective.
Here is the plan. Make a big show and when the crime rate continues to decrease claim that it is all because of Trump.

So this settlement arise from claims that some of the numbers were allegedly too low from 2018 to 2020? (And not murder rates but theft and assault, which are more easily manipulated by lesser charges)? The article is behind a paywall
So maybe there is more info there(?)

Ram and calla, at Dear Leader's persuasion, have completely blocked off what happened from January 2017 to January 2021.

Wasn't that issue from 2018-19? What's that got to do with today? What proof is related to supporting federal troops in the city TODAY? Is someone collecting different data for the Police Union? Is there no data that can be trusted? Just the ever honest President or a Police Union chief. What data is being evaluated today that clearly supports the need for federal military troop intervention? Surely there is something?

Well everyone, we’ve gotten to a point when an American president has ordered Feds to take over local law enforcement in an American city and has called in the national guard to patrol the streets despite there having been no major event to warrant such action, and he has threatened to do the same in other American cities, and there are people trying to defend it and justify it. I think we are long gone. The act itself is highly troubling, but the fact that people are trying to defend it and justify it is what is truly frightening and is an indicator that we are in a very dark place as a nation.

Broader point is that the MPD has a history of manipulating crime statistics and thus, these current statistics (showing a drop in crime) cannot be trusted.

"These statistics cannot be trusted because they do not reinforce my closely-held belief, bolstered by my sole reliance on 'Libs of TikTok' as my new source, that the District of Columbia is a crime-ridden hellhole where at any given moment on any given square foot of the city, you can be murdered, raped, and robbed- maybe even in that order."
