Vagrants, drug addicts, chronically homeless and mentally ill … are attacking families (?)
Did you ever think to yourself, "you know what we need? A military presence down here in the subway to protect us"? 'Cause I didn't, and I rode the train to Brooklyn at night. But I do get that people who use Union station would rather not have to deal with panhandlers and sketchy crazy looking people acting bizarre. I rode the subways in NYC for years and dealt with a lot of that. There is no question it can be disquieting to gross to scary sometimes when a mentally ill person is acting out in a public space like that.
No, though I did turn in a guy trying to expose himself to elderly women to a transit cop one time. And I rode the train at shocking hours, though almost never alone after midnight.Did you ever think to yourself, "you know what we need? A military presence down here in the subway to protect us"? It reminds me of the Cat Burglar episode of the Simpsons
I also had one time in my evening commute on a packed train a crazy vagrant stand right up against me (we were packed in like sardines) and make threatening and lewd comments. I just stared at the floor until a man put himself between us and told me to “step in [between him and crazy vagrant], you don’t have to put up with that” I stepped in and said thanks but be cool man because I did t want some Bernie Goetz moment. The vagrant got off at the next stop screaming at everyone to get fucked. No, though I did turn in a guy trying to expose himself to elderly women to a transit cop one time. In fact I had to fly to DC not long after 9/11 and was freaked out by armed military in the airport.
Which American cities have trains for hobos to ride? Chicago's El has 10% of the ridership of New York's subways.I also had one time in my evening commute on a packed train a crazy vagrant stand right up against me (we were packed in like sardines) and make threatening and lewd comments. I would have liked not to have to deal with him. That kind of thing is not an uncommon experience in a lot of cities and makes it too easy for too many frustrated people to think well, good, Trump may be extreme but I’m sick of stinking hobos on my train.![]()
I mean they said they got rid of all the criminals, how could any Democrats even remain after that?Very weird. I don’t see any Democrats walking up to them and secretly whispering, “Thank you sirs for making my city safe again so I can dine out at a restaurant.”
It's clean.Very weird. I don’t see any Democrats walking up to them and secretly whispering, “Thank you sirs for making my city safe again so I can dine out at a restaurant.”
They do have some extreme ideas. The good old antisemitic "rootless cosmopolitan" trope.

Spoken from Atlanta. Or some beach in Florida flying a Confederate flag at the town line. It's clean.
No homeless encampments.
No drugs.
Take the win.
Sigh. Appears that the DC cop steps back to let the masked marauders do their thing. Maybe the guy is a gangster with acting skills. We probably will never know.
The homeless haven't disappeared, they're simply somewhere else. The drugs haven't disappeared, they're simply somewhere else. It's clean.
No homeless encampments.
No drugs.
Take the win.
